Note from the Principal

Dear families of Hazeldale,


Hazeldale Staff held a DANCE PARTY on April 10th with the song choices coming from students to kimberly_skondin@beaverton.k12.or.us via the SeeSaw platform Specialists are using to push out their lessons. We had a lot of fun, worked up a bit of a sweat, and hope it brings some laughter to students and you as well! Enjoy!


Thank you for being our partners in this journey to educate our students in this unchartered way with the many varying challenges each family has. We know it is hard. However, working together as partners will bring us closer together as a team working collaboratively for the benefit of your child.

If your child does not have a device at home to access remote learning opportunities, please be sure you have communicated that to your child's teacher. We are awaiting further information on next steps.

Urgent Student Items to Be Collected?

Dear families,


When we left school on March 13 we were under the assumption we would be back in two weeks. However, with the directive from the governor we now know that students will not be returning this school year. Plans are being developed for all student items to be collected and distributed later this spring. However, we know that there may be personal items that are of an urgent need for learning, personal health or that a family may be moving out of the area. As a school, we want to help students collect these urgent items. However, we also hope families will understand that it would simply be impossible to get every item to each child in the school at this point.


For purposes of this opportunity, we will be identifying items that are urgent as:

  • Any medication that is in the health room

  • Any personal devices and/or technology that support a child’s learning (Note: headphones are not considered urgent).

  • If a family is moving, all a student’s personal items will be collected


Each school has been given the following direction:

  • Students, families, and non-BSD employees are not allowed in the schools at any time.

  • Principals and/or school staff will be the only personnel to access school lockers, cubbies or desks.

  • Distribution of items will be done by curbside pickup only.

  • Principals and/or school staff will use nitrile gloves when collecting items from lockers.

  • Student items will be collected and placed in one plastic bag and labeled with the student’s name.

Chromebook or Password Trouble? There is a Student Help Desk

STUDENT HELP DESK IS AVAILABLE


For students needing help with the BSD student device or applications, IT has created a student help desk. Students can email the help desk at shd@beaverton.k12.or.us or call (503) 356-4656 for support.

Kinder Registration Has Begun—Register Now!

Kindergarten registration for Fall, 2020, is open! Students must be five years of age on or before September 1st, per State Statute, and live within the attendance boundary of our school. We invite you to register early as this assists us in confirming enrollment for staffing purposes.


New student registrations can be completed online. Go to the Beaverton School District Website/Enrolling Your Child (under quick links at the bottom of the main page). Be sure to register for the 2020-2021 School year.


Upon enrolling you will either need to upload or bring in to be copied the following in order to make your child’s registration complete:


  • completed student enrollment form (if not completed online)
  • certificate of immunization
  • birth certificate (we will make a copy of your original)
  • migrant questionnaire
  • proof of address
