Please try on your spring concert tux or dress that was checked out to you last March. The current plan is to wear them for UIL, so if it does not fit we will need to check out a new uniform to you. More information to follow soon.

On Thursday, February 4th at 6:30PM, the CHHS Band Staff will be available for our incoming freshmen parents to share information and answer any questions about our program. We will send out an informational video presentation to help guide discussion, as well as links to the meeting that week. Stay tuned for details...we can’t wait to welcome the newest members of our family!

On Saturday, February 6th at 1:00PM, we will host the CHHS Ensemble Contest (this takes the place of the normal GCISD event). Students have signed up for times and more details will be released soon. Students need a copy of their ensemble’s music for the judge. Plan to dress professionally. Your entry fee is covered with your band fees. Stay tuned for more information!

19-20 Band Yearbooks

Sophomore, Junior, and Senior families -- If you were not able to pick up your band yearbook during the official pick up time, please contact Amy Rork at chhs.band.vp@gmail.com to arrange pick up. Please note all yearbooks must be picked up by January 31.

Yearbook Creator Needed

If you have talents related to digital scrapbooking or photo management, please consider building our 2020-2021 band yearbook! This is a fun, at-home job and we all appreciate the outcome. Yearbooks are generally completed by mid-April and distributed in late May (2020 notwithstanding...).

H-E-B is a Corporate Sponsor of the UIL and has its annual H-E-B Scholarship Program for Community Service Excellence opportunity. Nominees must have the following submitted to https://www.sportsinaction.com/scholarship/ by no later than Feb. 3, 2021:

• Minimum 3.3 GPA

• Number of Community Service Hours completed in the last 12 months

• Community Service Verification Letters to document the number of hours submitted

• A Letter of Recommendation

• A Short Essay (500 words or less) on the topic: “What does Community mean to you?”

There will be 15 total winners – 5 each in music, academics and athletics – and each will be awarded $2,000 from H-E-B. An announcement of the winners will be March 9, 2021.
