The bell schedule was updated last Friday to include the delay times and passing period between advisory and 1st block. You can view the bell schedule or use this Printable PDF. We will be following this bell schedule consistently through the rest of the year to promote routine and structure for all of our students through this time.
All-District Band
Congratulations to member of our band program who auditioned for and were selected to the VBODA District XVI Band! Stone Bridge had 22 members selected to this honor ensemble. This represents much hard work and dedication from our talented student musicians!
Girl Up Club Donation Drive
Time to clean out your closets! Girl Up Club is holding its annual collection drive to assist the Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter (LAWS). We have a collection box in front of the entryway of SBHS, and now at the Junction Plaza (Claiborne) Giant, and at Claude Moore Park, too. Bring your gently used clothing, toys, sports equipment, and gift cards. Pajamas for women, teens and kids are especially needed. Thank you!
Mental Health and Addiction Conferences
The Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Department of Pupil Services will present a virtual Mental Health and Wellness Conference, “Navigating the Path to Student Wellness,” from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 30. More information and registration details can be found here: Loudoun County Public Schools Mental Health and Wellness Conference. Attendance may be limited due to capacity.
In addition, LCPS is collaborating with Inova to present the “Inova Act on Addiction Summit,” a series of presentations offered January 25-29. For more information, please visit: http://inova.events/AOASummit
Both events are free for parents, educators, and community members.
Simply Mindful Group
As we start the new semester are you interested in learning ways to calm your mind and relax? We invite you to join Simply Mindful, a gathering of students and SBHS staff who meet Wednesday mornings from 8:45-9:05 for quiet mindful practices. If you are interested, please contact Dr. Lichtman, School Psychologist, at Theresa.Lichtman@lcps.org or Ms. Zappalla, School Social Worker, at Allyne.Zappalla@lcps.org.
Mental Health Team Update
Parents and Guardians - we invite you to view the Suicide Prevention Parent Presentation video. The presentation is intended to share information about teen depression and suicidality. The information is offered so you may recognize teens at risk, know how to respond to access help, and learn about protective factors to support your child. If you have additional questions, please reach out to the Stone Bridge High School Unified Mental Health Team at https://www.lcps.org/domain/4621.
Mobile Hope Service Project
My name is Nicholas Gray, and I’m a Boy Scout in Troop 1907. I’m working on a service project for Mobile Hope, which is a charity that helps support homeless and at-risk youth. I am looking for donations to help replenish their food supplies after the holidays and I’m reaching out to the community for help. Currently, Mobile Hope is looking for Canned meats, Granola bars, Canned fruits and Vegetables, Cereal, Macaroni, Hearty soups, Snacks, Ramen noodles, Oatmeal, and Shelf-stable milk. There will be a box in front of 43257 Brookford Square UNTIL Saturday, February 13th, to place your items in. Even if you donate just one thing, it would be a HUGE help! If you want to learn more about Mobile Hope, check out their website at: https://mobile-hope.org/. Thank you so much!
