Principal's Update
From Dr. Duffy, James Monroe High School
December 4, 2020
Learning Assignment Plans (LAPs) Update
I want to remind everyone that all assignments from the first semester can be made up without penalty through the end of the first semester, Friday, December 18. I also want to let you know that the last LAPs of the 2nd quarter are a bit shorter and are designed to be completed by December 11th. Since we will no longer have first semester exams, the week of December 14th will be used to give students time to make up work. Students are still encouraged to attend virtual class meetings to get support from their teachers. All students must continue to check in with their homeroom teachers through December 18th in order to be counted as present.
Plans After Graduation
Students interested in military service after high school should register for the ASVAB test and may do so here: https://jmhs.fxbgschools.us/academics/testing. The ASVAB is scheduled for March 10, 2021. Students must provide their own transportation to the school, as this is on a Wednesday when schools are otherwise closed.
Virtual Virginia Classes
We are pleased to announce that we are offering students the opportunity to enroll in Spring courses through Virtual Virginia. These courses will be free to JM students. This provides JM students an opportunity for credit recovery as well as a chance to pursue additional academic interests. Be on the lookout for registration events and prizes. Stay tuned to this space!
