New Pal Hosts IPA - Recap

From Friday set up - to Saturday clean up - THANK YOU to our volunteers, parents, and students for making the IPA contest a huge success. The platform of performance is always a fantastic opportunity to make memories, challenge ones self, and strive as a group for GREATNESS!

Numerous Indoor Percussion Lines laid it out on the performance stage in our own NPHS gym. The New Palestine Audio Theater unit made another great stride in their 2021 campaign. In a fierce battle between Knox and New Palestine, the tie breaking judge placed the higher marks for Knox, relegating our Audio Theater performers to a 3rd place finish.

Saturday - March 20th marks the State Prelims for the IPA season.

Good Luck to our Audio Theater performers on your push towards the final stretch!!I

One week after the 2021 debut of "Life's A Beach", the New Palestine Glitter Guard headed North to Westfield High School for the next round of IHSCGA competition. After a great week of practice, it was evident that the color guard stepped up their performance by improving their score nearly five 5 points (65.02), and qualifying for a spot in the April 10th State Finals for a third consecutive time! Congrats to all our hard working students, parents, and staff!

Since qualifying for State, the Winter Guard has continued to see incremental improvement. On March 6th, the New Pal Varsity Color Guard placed 1st in the Hamilton Southeastern Class A lineup with a 75.92.

(A reflection from NP Color Guard Director, Kelly Piacenti)

"A year ago, this was our last performance at Semi-Finals, ending 3rd going into State Finals. I have never published our last run as it was hard to cope with the unfinished feeling of my first season as Director. The unexpected end of our season because of the pandemic only made me see this last run as "what could of been". It was painful to see all the work put in come to a grinding stop and not get to fulfill the show's potential.

Moving past this date this year, I am so happy we will continue to have another month of the season and head to State Finals next month. I am not typically a score-centric person, but placing 1st at our show this weekend was the closest to a full circle feeling to the year anniversary of the shut down I think I will ever get.

I will always hold (the 2020) show and this group close to my heart!

On to creating new memories and finishing out the 2021 season!"

Good luck over the next month, New Palestine Varsity Winter Guard!!! We will all be pulling for you!!!

SCRIP Fundraiser

All year long - orders placed once per month

We have partnered with the SCRIP fundraising activity which rewards you for buying almost anything.

Shop at Kohls? (fundraising!) Shop at Best Buy?? (fundraising!!) Eat at BW3's or Wendy's? (Fundraising!!) Do you or someone you know BUY GAS?? Yep.. gas, too.

There are currently over 750 stores that participate.

How it works:

You pick a store & buy a gift card. ($10.. $20..$50.. any amount)

You receive the gift card, and your student account receives the rebate!

Each retailer has a set rebate & some are higher than others.

Lets say you need a new refrigerator. You buy a $500 gift card through SCRIP from Home Depot (yep, they're on there too). Home Depot may have a 4% SCRIP rebate going on. Your band account receives $20 and you get the $500 to buy your fridge.

Get it?? Pretty cool, eh?

For more info on SCRIP, or for help getting started, contact Dawn Smith.
