On Wednesday, 3/29/23, we will have the 3rd quarter Report Card and Conference day. The hours will be 8:15-11:15AM and 12:15-3:15PM. Please note that teachers will NOT be available between 11:15-12:15 for their lunch break. Please be on the lookout for communication from your child’s homeroom teacher for how to sign up.

Our next LSC meeting will be on Tuesday, 3/21/23, at 6:00PM. This will be an in-person meeting that is public and open to everyone. We currently still have 2 Parent vacancies on our LSC, and this meeting is another opportunity for any interested parent candidates to be appointed to the council. We have so much talent at Boone/Mosaic that we can’t wait to share at our upcoming Variety Show! The show will take place on Thursday, 3/30/23 at 5:00PM. Please note that doors will open at 4:45PM. We will have guests enter until we reach capacity in the auditorium. All students will also have the opportunity to see the show during the school day on 3/31/23.

In an effort to increase safety at arrival, we have added cones around the crosswalks on the corner of Washtenaw and North Shore and North Shore and Fairfield. In addition to this effort, we will be piloting an additional safety measure. Beginning the week of March 20th, there will be a section of Fairfield Avenue that will be coned off so that families can drop students off by the curb. This section will not allow cars to park and sit idle. Please see the 1st image below.

Then beginning the week of March 27th we will add another coned off section on Washtenaw for families to drop students by the curb. Please see 2nd image below.

More details about this change will be coming next week. We plan to schedule a time in April for families to share feedback about these changes.

CPS will continue to offer free, weekly in-school COVID-19 testing to students and staff who are interested. Importantly, anyone who wants to enroll in testing this year will need to fill out an updated consent form — regardless of whether or not you participated in weekly testing last year. That updated consent form can be accessed here. Consent forms from last school year or this summer will not be valid for the 2022–23 school year. However, once a student or staff member has consented this year, that consent will remain in place until they leave CPS.

Parent Portal gives parents the ability to view students' grades in real time. If you are setting up your Parent Portal account for the first time, please visit the First Time Parent Portal Set-Up link. This is a one-time step and not necessary after every school year. Once you receive your email from Aspen to help set up your username and password, you can access Parent Portal at Aspen Parent Portal.

If you already have a Parent Portal account, but are running into technical issues (forgot password, locked out, etc), please email Boone's tech coordinator Patrick Chi (ptchi@cps.edu) so he can reset your account. Once your account is reset, you should receive an email from Aspen with further instructions. Additional information provided by the district can be found at this link.
