New Year Newsletter- January 2021

Happy New Year, Route 56ers!

Happy New Year! We are so excited about a new year and new opportunities to engage with your 5th and 6th grade students, and to share the love of Christ with them. We will start sending out a monthly update all about Sunday School and Wednesday night Route 56 activities. This month will also have information on Winter Retreat for the 6th graders.

We are looking at a few different platforms as we search for the one that best fits our ministry's needs, and welcome you to weigh in on the decision. Please send any feedback to

We love you, and are praying for a happy and healthy 2021! Can't wait to see you!

Update Your Info, Please!!!

We have a new release form that needs to be completed for each student participating in MUMC activities. Please send completed digital copies to or bring a paper copy to the church by January 31, 2021. The link is located below.

This is especially important as starting on January 11, Sara Dawn will be praying for each grade level weekly. She will contact you directly regarding your child when it's their grade level's turn. We want to make sure we can reach you!

Winter Retreat Coming Soon!

Friday, Feb. 12th, 5pm

7310 Rock Creek Road

Kingston, OK

Students, 6th grade and up, will travel to Cross Point Camp in Kingston on Friday, February 12 and return Sunday, February 14th. I plan to go as an adult leader, so your student will be with someone they are familiar with. If you have any other questions, please email Sarah Springs at Registration forms are linked below.

New Check-in System Coming Soon!

Safety is a top priority for us at MUMC, and we've been researching ways to better keep your child safe. A check-in system is a good way to do just that and we will be implementing the Kid Check Express check in by the end of the month. Here are some informational videos for you to familiarize yourself with system. More information will be sent out soon.

New Study for Wednesday Nights!

We will jump into "Defined: Who God Says You Are" starting on January 20. This is an 8 week study in the book of Ephesians that will explore who you are as a child of God. This will also lead into a spiritual gifts survey, and learning how to use our gifts to help our brothers and sisters in Christ.

There will also be food! Youth has graciously offered to include us in dinner on Wednesdays. If there is a special event, or dinner plans change for any reason, Route 56 will be notified by email and/or text.
