A Message From Mr. Mueller
Thank you to all of the coaches for their time and commitment to helping our young athletes develop skills that will serve them well in future years!
Our building has also had many struggles. We have taken precautions to limit student contact and potential exposure to illness throughout our campus, but the virus has still found a way to impact students. After multiple positive cases in our student body, the administrative team made the decision to close down the 7th and 8th grade wing for 2 weeks. We strongly believe that this decision will prevent more positive cases and any opportunity for the virus to impact other grade levels.
Custodians were busy during fall break disinfecting the building in preparation for those students to return to school November 11th. Teachers were also working hard over fall break preparing for Second Quarter and learning about new technology that they can implement into their classroom or utilize in the event of a school closure. Our 7th and 8th grade teachers have focused on using these resources to aid them as we move forward with distance learning over the next week and a half.
From November 3rd-10th, all 7th and 8th grade students will be learning remotely from home. All lessons will be conducted using Google Classroom. Teachers will have recorded lessons for students to view at their own pace. If students have questions, teachers will have virtual office hours on Google Meet each day. They may log into the session at any point during their virtual office hour and teachers will be available to answer questions. All other communication should be done via email or Google Classroom. Teachers will be available every day from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm to assist students.
Throughout distance learning, students need to meet the following expectations:
Access lessons and assignments daily through Google Classroom
Submit your work electronically through Google Classroom
Grades count and you must turn in completed assignments to earn credit
Communicate with teachers through Google Classroom or Google Meet
Afternoon Pick-Up
Afternoon Pick-Up
Earlier this week, I sent out a message explaining that we will no longer allow students to be picked up in the gravel parking lot. There are several cars that park on the north side of the Middle School near the bus barn. Cars that leave from the gravel lot are creating more congestion and stopping the normal flow of traffic from the other lanes. Furthermore, buses have to pull up far enough to leave space for students to walk across the crosswalk in the front of the building. This has created a blind spot for our bus drivers and we are concerned that this may caused an accident in the future as cars attempt to rush out ahead of the buses and enter the main flow of traffic.
Therefore, if you pick your student up from the Middle School, you will be required to pick them up in the main parking lot. Students will walk out of the main entrance and meet you out front so that you can join the main flow of traffic and exit at either entrance to campus.
