A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL...
Students, Parents, Faculty, and Staff,
May is upon us and most people I know have started the "school day" countdown... we have 17 days left! I just can't believe how fast it has gone by. What I do know that I can say about school in May, from my experience, is that it just speeds up from here on out. These 17 days will fly by and we'll be having Prom and Graduation before we know it. Before that we have many things to wrap up and finish strong. It has been a great year, but it isn't over. We have Algebra 1, Biology, and US History STAAR EOC to pass, AP test to challenge, and Spring semester classes to complete. Again, I can't emphasize attendance enough. Parents - there is only 17 school days left... make sure your student attends and participates in every school day that we have left. Y'all have done a great job so far, keep pushing and finish!
"Be the hero of your own story. Show the world the quality of your character, the strength of your resolve, and the size of your heart by FINISHING STRONG" - Gary Ryan Blair

***Have you registered your student(s)?
BHS registration numbers for the 2021-2022 school year are below 60%. Over 550 students have not even started the registration process. We have fallen behind the pack as we compete against the other schools to hit at least 90%. Please see below any information you need to get registered. There is a whole article about it. Please do this ASAP so that your student does not lose their course selection request. We can't give them classes if they are not registered.
Happenings at Boerne HS:

- The BHS Softball team claimed the Bi-district Championship this past week by run ruling Gonzales twice in a best of 2 out of 3 series. They won the first game 16-0 and the second game 15-2. They now have an overall record of 25-6. They started off in Marion Wednesday night, but lightening cancelled the game that evening. That forced a double header Thursday night in Wimberley, where they beat Gonzales twice to sweep the series. The Lady Hounds advance to the Area Champioship this week versus Sweeny. Good luck ladies... get us another 'ship! Game dates, time, and location:
Game 1 - Thursday, 6:30 pm at Weimer, Tx
Game 2 - Saturday, 2:00 pm at Weimer, Tx
Game 3 - if necessary, 30 minutes after Game 2
- BHS Baseball wrapped up the regular season in third place in District 28-4A. They are awaiting their Bi-district opponent (District 27-4A) and other details of the playoff series. The Hounds boast a record of 20-7-1 and are looking forward to making a long run in the playoffs. Good luck Hounds!
- Last week the Boerne HS Chamber Orchestra traveled to Champion for their UIL Concert and sight-reading evaluation. The orchestra played their hearts out and were commended on their superior performance. They received straight 1's (Superior ratings) in both concert and sight-reading earning them a sweepstakes and bringing a trophy back home. We are so proud of their work and are proud of the way they represented Boerne High School. Congratulations again to the Boerne HS Chamber Orchestra!

We have less than 60% registered...
All Student Registration for the 2021-2022 School Year Now Open
Online Registration for returning students and Online Enrollment of new students opened Friday, March 5th. Action must be taken whether you are registering your returning student or adding a new student, so please log-in to your existing Skyward Family Access Account. Families who do not have a current student enrolled at BISD will need to create a Skyward account. Once you are in Skyward navigate to the clipboard icon titled Campus Name, Returning Student to begin.
The last day to register a returning student is the last day of school this year, Wednesday, May 26th, 2021.
Our district has created an Online Enrollment Portal with instructions and other helpful tools to help you during this process.
If you are enrolling a new student in your family there is no need to create a new Skyward account. To add a new student to your existing Skyward Account please log into your current Skyward account navigate to the dropdown menu next to the Home Icon and select “New Student Enrollment“ link. Do this for each student you need to add to your existing account. Please refer to the previously mentioned “How to Enroll a Returning Student” support document showing how to complete this process.
*The enrollment/registration process is not compatible with mobile devices, meaning you must complete the process on a computer. You may contact your campus registrar if you experience a problem or do not see the necessary icons on your account. Should you have any questions or problems please contact your campus to schedule an appointment to complete the forms.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note, when you are registering/enrolling your students, you will not see a selection of In-Person or E-Learning on Skyward. You are simply enrolling/registering as a district student for 2021-22. The Texas Education Agency has not identified e-learning as an option for 2021-22. Should this change and E-Learning become an option, we will update Boerne ISD families. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
***School ATTENDANCE is the law and required for graduation...
Parents, please speak to your students about the importance of taking the time we have left this semester and making significant progress. They need to attend classes everyday, on time, and complete all assigned work on time, whether they are "In Person" or "E Learning". I can't emphasize attendance enough, whether it is "In Person" or "E Learning", you have to be there and be engaged or you are doing yourself an injustice and jeopardizing your grades. As we navigate through this semester, don't forget attendance is state mandated and it along with a passing grade are required for credit for all classes:
1. Attendance for "In Person" and "E Learners" is state mandated and the law. Make sure your student is abiding by their agreement, which ever method it is.
2. In order to obtain credit for a class, attendance is required along with passing the class. If your student has poor attendance, no matter how high the grade is, they will not get credit for the class and have to re-take it.

BOERNE HS BAND BOOSTERS - Fundraiser Announcment
The Boerne High School Band Boosters are proud to announce that they have entered a contract with Clubhouse Trailers to purchase a larger trailer for the Boerne High School Band! This has been a long term goal for all Officers, Leaders, and volunteers for many years and we are so excited for this exciting milestone.
Although the primary purchase of the trailer has been made, there are other financial objectives to support our goal of having the trailer ready for the 2021 Marching Band Season, such as customizable fittings inside the trailer, a custom wrap to show off our Greyhound Pride, and funding to transport the trailer to and from football games and marching band competitions. This Virtual 5K Fundraiser will help us achieve that goal and help us continue to support the Boerne High School Band in the upcoming year.
Now that the snow has melted, sign up and begin getting outside to prepare for a competitive race for Men, Women, and Youth age groups. Not a runner? Then just sign up for a Fun Run/Walk or form a team for a distance challenge over the months of March & April. Individuals can fundraise or obtain sponsors and earn free registration. Not the fitness type? Then, simply register for the “Couch Crusader” or simply donate to support the Boerne High School Band Boosters.
We challenge all the various teams, organizations, faculty, and staff to sign up and create teams to either compete against each other or complete the distance challenge. This is a great opportunity to get fit and build some team/school spirit!
All runs/walks can be done on your own time and at location of your choice; however, during the event, we encourage individuals to post pictures of your run/walk on our Virtual Race and Social Media sites to share your activities.
Registration ends April 30, 2021
