Sneak Peek
2R Stoy School*August 2014*Miss Roberts
Welcome to Second Grade
August is well under way and I hope you are enjoying your summer! I am excited to begin a new school year and have been busy getting Room 22 ready for 2R. In case you are not familiar with my classroom, I hope this newsletter will help you. If at any time you have questions or concerns, please contact me. You may either: call the main office at 869-7725, leave a voicemail at ext 5022 or email me at lroberts@haddontwpschools.com.
At the beginning of each week, you will receive a "Sneak Peek" to keep you in the loop regarding happenings in second grade. I hope it will generate and extend the school conversation you have at home. My goal is to transition from a printed version of the Sneak Peek to an email/online - only version each week. I will be sending hard copies home until Back to School Night.

Welcome to 2R!
A quick look into our classroom.
Get ready by rereading the book you received from last year's class.
General Information
Student Agendas:
Your child will receive an Agenda Book on the first day of school and it will serve two purposes. Your child will use it to write down their homework assignments, also you and I can communicate within the Agenda. I will sign the book each day and will respond as necessary. Please be sure your child returns his/her Agenda each day.
Home Folders:
A red folder will be sent home on the first day of school and will be used as their primary take-home folder. Please look inside the folder each night and remove or return papers as necessary. It is important that your child bring this folder to school each day.
Reading Log:
A Reading Log will be sent home each month. Students are responsible to read 15-20 minutes each night and document what was read. In October, your child will begin responding to their reading. Be on the look out for additional information.
Birthday Celebrations:
In order to comply with district policies, birthday snacks are not permitted in school. Therefore, as a class we will create and publish a Birthday Book for each child on their special day. Each child will receive their Birthday Book after we sing to celebrate.
