Principal's Message
Hello Seco Families,
On behalf of the staff, thank you for all of your cards, thoughtful gifts, and expressions of gratitude this past week in celebration of Teacher and Staff Appreciation week. We are truly fortunate to work with such an amazing and supportive community.
Our next PAC (Parent Advisory Council) meeting is this coming Monday, May 13, in K Hall from 8:30 to 9:30 am. We look forward to hosting a Q & A session for parents of incoming 7th graders. Coffee and light breakfast snacks will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!
This is the last week of CAASPP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress) testing, which will conclude on May 17. This week, students will test in their Math classes. They will follow their normal class schedule this week, including Late Start Wednesday. Thank you for your support and for encouraging your children to take the tests seriously and to do their best.
Please take a look at the graphic below from Scholastic about the impact of reading. Just 20 minutes a day can make a huge difference in students' achievement levels. As summer approaches, we encourage you to work with your children on developing a plan for reading each day, which can be both beneficial and enjoyable.
Have a great weekend.

Happy Mother's Day!
My Mother Kept A Garden
My Mother kept a garden,
a garden of the heart,
She planted all the good things
that gave my life it’s start.
She turned me to the sunshine
and encouraged me to dream,
Fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem…
And when the winds and rain came,
she protected me enough-
But not too much because she knew
I’d need to stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example
always taught me right from wrong-
Markers for my pathway
that will last a lifetime long.
I am my Mother’s garden.
I am her legacy-
And I hope today she feels the love
reflected back from me.
