Student parking passes are available for a $10.00 fee. Seniors/juniors must present their license and a completed Student Automobile Form to Mrs. Donna Love in the main office to receive a parking tag. If a student does not have a parking tag, a warning will be given to the student. If the warnings do not seem to change behavior, the car will be towed away at the owner’s expense.

It was a pleasure attending and being welcomed by the PTA this past Tuesday where we shared a great deal of information about the upcoming year. Please remember that dues are $5 and the membership form can be found on the PTA website. We look forward to working the the PTA on all of their endeavors throughout the school year.

Dear Parents,

With the start of our new school year, I thought it would be appropriate to extend some transportation information to you. As some of you may have already experienced some busing issues, please try and understand that we are trying everything possible to help correct some of these problems. The main busing issue is a shortage of drivers. First Student has had several drivers relocate to other companies. As a result of this, they were forced to have some drivers cover more than one run. This in turn only makes other runs late. They are trying to fill empty jobs, but it is taking some extra effort on their part. First Student is doing all they can do to recruit new drivers. The shortage of drivers is due to the increased rigor of obtaining a CDL, including engine repair knowledge and extreme medical scrutiny. This has created a national shortage of drivers. Delran in not alone in this struggle. I personally take the safety of transporting of all our children very seriously. Please try to be patient. My phone is always open to your problems and concerns. I only ask that we try and work together to resolve any issues. Thank you for your time in this matter.

America Works, one of the nation’s largest workforce development firms, is hosting an event dedicated to the financial, professional, and personal enrichment of youth in Burlington County. America Works, called "a company with a conscience," has found jobs for more than 500,000 hard-to-place workers, including military veterans, long-term welfare and food stamp recipients, former criminal offenders, people who are homeless and living in shelters, youths aging out of foster care, and many others. Since 2011, America Works of NJ has successfully placed over 500 individuals into paid employment in Burlington County.

In an effort to inspire and further connect with the youth of Burlington County, we have organized a day where participants may access a wide variety of helpful workshops on job placement techniques, job skills, life skills, financial literacy, tutoring, education, entrepreneurship, and health and wellness. Participants will be treated to America Works’ signature workshop on knowing your top five Character Strengths via Authentic Happiness on the University of Pennsylvania Website. Participants will also learn about their top five leadership strengths though the Clifton Strength Finder test and Workplace Emotional Intelligence which can help improve engagement of employees at work. This workshop will undoubtedly help individuals rise above and secure employment.

Many local employers, such as TD Bank (also hosting financial literacy workshop), HMS Host, CVS Health (also hosting health and wellness workshop), Cooper University Hospital, Virtua, Accu Staffing, Manpower, RCBC, Rutgers University, and many more have been invited to make presentations, providing an opportunity for participants to meet employers and learn about available job openings.

The event is free, open to the public, and specifically designed for individuals between the ages of 16 and 24 as well as individuals who are receiving SSI and SSDI. It will be held on September 20 starting at 10AM at 790 Woodlane Rd., Suite 7, Westampton, NJ 08060.

The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Burlington County Clean Communities is sponsoring fall cleanups in our community on Saturday, September 24th, Saturday, October 1st and Saturday, October 29th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. It is a great opportunity for individuals and families to be active within their community and enjoy the county park system. It also instills an appreciation for our environment. Individuals and families will take home a great message of where it is that litter originates and why it is important to dispose of garbage and recycling properly. Grabbers, gloves and bags are provided for all volunteers and light snacks will also be available. Students and volunteers can also earn community service hours! It’s hard to believe that the PSAT is just around the corner. For many families, this is the kick off to the college admissions process. Beginning October 1st, Kaplan’s highly-rated faculty will cover the most important PSAT content and tackle practice problems in 8 live-streaming, one-hour lessons. In addition, students will have access to online study content and detailed explanations to the official PSAT practice test.
