Dear Parents,

State Testing Grades 3-5
PLEASE remember to be sure that your child is well-rested and eats a nutritious breakfast each morning during these three weeks of testing. Even more important are your encouraging words every day! There are ten testing days throughout these three weeks, however those 10 days may vary depending on circumstances. It is very important that you do not come to sign your child out of school before eleven a.m. during these three weeks.

Castro Student Council - Guatemala Spanish Book Drive - Ends April 30th
Have your kids outgrown some of their books? Rather than Goodwill, why not donate them to kids in Guatemala who don't have access to books otherwise? The student council has organized a book drive for a school in Vuelta Grande, Guatemala. All around Castro over the next few weeks, you will see boxes where you can place the books. Please only donate books in Spanish. Thank you so much for your consideration!
District News
MVEF Endowment Campaign Participating in SVGives on May 5
With the success of last month’s gala, MVEF is nearing our 2014-15 fundraising goal of $600,000. The money raised supports programs at all District schools, such as art and music classes, hands-on science, garden programs, recess programs, and leadership workshops at the elementary schools; and after-school sports and extended-day electives at the middle schools. If you have not yet donated this school year, please give today: www.mvef.org.
While the main focus for MVEF is on raising money for current year programs, the MVEF Endowment will support programs in the Mountain View Whisman school district for generations to come. We are in the third year of our 5 years to $500K endowment campaign. You’re invited to support the MVEF Endowment during Silicon Valley Gives.
