North Branch Rancheros Bake Sale
The North Branch Rancheros will be hosting a Bake Sale this Saturday, April 16th at 4:00 p.m. during the Snowflaker's Easter Egg Hunt at Williams Park in Syracuse!
Deadline to register for Public Speaking Contest is Friday - April 15th!
In-person YQCA Training
The next in-person YQCA training will be held on Monday, April 18th at 10:00 a.m. at the Extension Office. The training will take a full 1.5 hours to complete. To register, log on to yqcaprogram.org.
Looking for a club fundraiser?
Is your 4-H club looking for a fundraising opportunity? They Syracuse Ball Complex is looking for groups to work in the concession stand this spring and summer. They will be holding an informational and sign-up meeting on Monday, April 18th at 7:00 p.m. at the Syracuse City Hall, 495 Midland Street. Arbor Day Parade - April 30th
The Otoe County 4-H Council will be in the Arbor Day Parade in Nebraska City! If you are interested in walking with our display of our Senior Banners, wear an Otoe County 4-H Shirt and meet us at the Bethel Church in Nebraska City at noon. The Parade starts at 1:00, and we will be walking along side the trailer, throwing out candy. Eat lunch before you come and be ready to walk!!

Vincent and Marie Kreifels Annual Beef and Consumer Science Awards
All Juniors in High School are eligible for these generous 6 awards, they must have been enrolled and active in the previous 3 calendar years, exhibited a beef or consumer science project at the Otoe County Fair in 2 or more of the last 4 years, must currently be enrolled in those same projects for this year. Details will be mailed to all members who will be Seniors next year, they need to be returned to our office by Friday, July 1st.

Week of the Volunteer - April 17-23
- 2022 Nebraska 4-H Statewide Volunteer Recognition Awards will be announced on Pure Nebraska and winners notified on Friday, April 22nd!
Celebration Ideas for 4-H'ers:
- Without using names, reflect upon how one special volunteer made your 4-H experience memorable…post your story on a social media platform using #OtoeCounty4H
- Send a thank you card to a volunteer who has helped you with your 4-H projects this year or in a past year.
- Call your 4-H club leader and tell them that you appreciate all they do for the 4-Hers in your club.
Bake/Buy and deliver a special treat for a person who has been a volunteer for your club. Include one of these clever premade tags to go along with your treat!

Community Service Project
The Otoe County Ag Society is asking for help from 4-Her's to paint the picnic tables used at county fair. May 20th, 9- Noon: Power washing of the picnic tables, wear appropriate clothes and bring power washers, garden hoses, and scrapers. We will get the picnic tables power washed and ready to paint.
May 25th, 9 - 5: Painting of Picnic Tables, dress appropriately.

Horse ID Sheets and entries for both the District and State horse shows are due by May 6th. All Advancement Level paperwork for those shows must be complete by that date also.
**New starting this year** Otoe County Horse ID sheets are due on June 15th if you are not showing at Districts and/or the State horse shows. Advancement level paperwork must be completed for Otoe County Fair by July 1st. Online fair entries will be due by July 1st.
BB Gun New Shooter Clinic
Here is the registration link: https://forms.gle/KMNpt7xQTAVNywQ9A. We suggest all new shooter's attend the clinic. It will make your child's 1st practice during our season run smoother for the whole group.
Rocket Launching Contest
New at the fair this year will be a rocket launching contest on Sunday, July 31 at 8:00 a.m. 4-H members will launch their rockets first, followed by clover kids paper tube rockets. Paper tube rockets are "stomp" rockets. Pre-registration (pre-entry) will be required. If you enter a rocket in the fair as a static entry, you are not required to launch that rocket on Sunday. Attached is some information about that event.
