Literacy
Theme - When you find the message, moral, or life lesson that a narrative story teaches. It takes a lot of practice to get good at finding the theme of a story. You have to “dig deep” in the story to find the theme.
Read Aloud - Your teacher reads a book to the class. This year, third grade had an awesome read aloud called The One and Only Ivan. It was about a gorilla who lived in a concrete cage in a shopping mall.
Math
multiplication - multiplication is when you times a number like 2 times =4 or 5 times 5= 25
Quadrilaterals - quadrilaterals are shapes with 4 sides like rhombuses or rectangles and squares.
Science
Clouds- In third grade, you learn about the four types of clouds. There are Cirrus, Stratus, Cumulus, and Cumulonimbus. Cirrus clouds are wispy like horse tails. Stratus clouds are flat and gray. Cumulus clouds are white, puffy, cotton ball clouds. Cumulonimbus clouds are storm clouds.
Heredity- heredity is where you look at the traits of a boy and a girl after you study the traits you get to make a facebook profile and after that you get to make the person.
Social Studies
Scarcity- scarcity is when a city has a low amount of resources like water or food.
Continents-continents are a large amount of land with wildlife like jungles or forests and rivers streams or lake.
