celebrating 25 years of excellence in catholic education
alleluia! He is risen!
happy easter!
Theme for the Year: Goodness
Our Motto: Teaching the Mind...Nourishing the Soul
At St. Joseph Catholic School, we are striving to become missionary disciples, recognizing the goodness of God in our lives and in the world around us, each and every day.
Our Mission and Vision Statements
Mission:
St. Joseph Catholic School provides students with a safe and prayerful learning environment, enveloped by an intimate community of active and faithful families.
Vision:
Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fort Worth are committed to opening the doors so that our students can reach further than the walls that would otherwise enclose them and therefore are able to recognize and cherish the eternal and transcendental goods of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.
From the principal
Today's first reading illustrate to us how the Apostles continued to do the work of Jesus after His Death and Resurrection. They were focused on obeying God, and not the orders of the Sanhedrin. They were fearless in their faith. We can learn a lot from the behavior of the Apostles during this time in Church history. Bishop Olson, Fr. Kelley, and Fr. Kennedy have all said not to let fear overwhelm us and cloud our good judgement at this time in our history. I can image the Apostles prayed often to God to strengthen their resolve to spread the teachings of Jesus Christ. We too, must continue to pray to God to strengthen our resolve to weather this pandemic. With God, all things are possible.

One does not have to wait until May 5th to contribute! Giving now will count toward our Tuition Assistance total collected for May 5th. Please feel free to share the link below: https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/index.php?section=organizations&action=overview&fwID=830

Goodness Bible Verse for April
Virtue for the month of April
saintly quote to ponder
No one should follow what he considers to be good for himself, but rather what seems good for another. Let them put Christ before all else; and may he lead us all to everlasting life.
– St. Benedict
Trusting your first thought to say, "no."
With much embarrassment she admitted, “I gave in. Then I hated myself for doing so.“
Sometimes we as parents simply get a feeling about something. Much of the time this feeling is based on many years of experience and maturity. Rather than trying to provide a brilliant rationale, we might reply with empathy and honesty:
I’m really not sure why I feel the way I do about this, but I’ve learned to trust these feelings. I will be happy to listen to your thoughts about this, as long as your voice sounds calm like mine.
This won’t satisfy the average child, but it is honest and respectful, and will reduce the odds that we’ll wear out, give in, or erupt with anger.
If they continue to argue or manipulate, we can calmly repeat this question:
And… what did I say?
I’ve often heard parents say, “I wish I would have trusted my gut. I wish I would have held firm.”
It’s always wise to err on the side of caution. It’s also smart to model that skill for our kids.
From, Dr. Charles Fay

“Does it matter the size?” LEGO Challenge - Consider something that is usually small in reality. Write your idea in the chat box on Zoom. Next, build a BIG version of the thing you thought of. It is usually a small thing, but we are building it in a bigger size. Have fun with this! You can use drawing paper to draw the project if you do not have LEGOs.
