Superintendent's Message
Loveland Tiger Community,
Students are now on Spring Break, but I wanted to make sure to send a message to our community during this time. Over the last several days, we’ve been saluting some of our teachers on social media. One teacher from each building was nominated to be our district representative for “Celebrate Excellence,” an award ceremony hosted by the Hamilton County Education Foundation.
Here are the nominees:
(click the link to watch a short video of each)
- Emily Parnin, kindergarten reading teacher at Loveland Early Childhood Center
- Jennifer Kenney, first-grade teacher at Loveland Primary School
- Andy Price, a fourth-grade teacher at Loveland Elementary School
- John Waple, fifth-grade English language arts and social studies teacher at Loveland Intermediate School
- Hannah Sick, seventh-grade English language arts teacher at Loveland Middle School
- Craig Murnan, accounting, investment, and Tigers Inc. teacher at Loveland High School
One of these awesome educators will represent Loveland at the “Celebrate Excellence” event in May and be recognized along with teachers from across the area. We appreciate everything that our teachers do to care for our students, and I hope you take the time to learn a little more about each of them.
Loveland City Schools is in the people business. We don’t make widgets or sell a product, we invest in the kids of our community, and that wouldn’t be possible without our amazing staff. Loveland City School District is the largest single employer in the City of Loveland, and more than half of our staff live in the district. It’s pretty special that so many of the amazing people in our classrooms, lunchrooms, buildings, and buses are your neighbors. The deep ties of this community make Loveland a special place.
Thanks to all of our staff members who show up for students every single day, and thank you to our community for making Loveland an amazing place.

New Mural Unveiled at Loveland High School
Loveland High School has a new mural, thanks to a partnership with the Cincinnati Reds and PNC Bank. LHS was selected as the recipient of a “Murals with a Mission." Artist Brent Billingsley worked with Loveland High School students to design and paint a mural that spreads a message of hope, depicting the journey from sadness to hope with the help of those around us.
The mural was unveiled during a celebration on Friday, March 31, with guests from the Reds and PNC Bank in attendance during a full-school assembly in the Loveland High School gym.
The mural will be on display in the main hallway of the high school, where students and guests will pass it every day. Thank you to the Cincinnati Reds, PNC Bank, Brent Billingsley, and our wonderful student artists for helping make this possible.

Find Your Stripes Day at LES a Success!
Loveland Elementary School’s first-ever “Find Your Stripes Day” took place last Friday. LES students had an opportunity to follow their interests and attend learning sessions presented by Loveland High School students. They heard from guest speakers, including WLWT meteorologist Randi Rico and education innovator Aidan Zebertavage from Abre, about how they found their career path.
“Find Your Stripes Day” was a great partnership between the elementary and high school buildings to provide students with amazing opportunities to learn and teach! Thank you to the students, staff, and volunteers who made it happen!
Teaching Professions Academy Grows Future Teachers
Congratulations to our Loveland High School Teaching Professions Academy students who recently got a chance to compete at EdRising in Columbus. The Teaching Professions Academy is a program for students interested in pursuing education as a career. The EdRising Conference brings students from across the state together to learn and grow their skills. Junior Sara Bebout and senior Ellie Boni did an amazing job in the Children’s Literature competition. LHS senior Emma Kist brought home first place in the Humanities Lesson Planning category. She is now on her way to the national competition.
Get Your Bus Safety Signs!
One of our Loveland bus drivers has launched a mission to increase student safety by partnering with RP Diamond to offer bus safety yard signs. The signs remind drivers not to drive around stopped school buses because kids may be crossing the street. Place the sign in your yard to make the trip to school safer for our students. Signs are $7.50 and can be ordered through RP Diamond by following this link. Thank you to driver Michele Winter for leading this project!
And if you want to help our Transportation Department, consider applying to be a bus driver. Like districts across the country, Loveland needs more drivers. Paid training is available, and we’d love to have more drivers join our amazing team!
