NGC Student Council Ambassadors

October 19th through November 13th

Notes from Mrs. Lovell

October 30th was a milestone for me as a teacher. After eight years in the district, I finally took a group of students on a field trip for the first time. I could not have been more proud of how they behaved and interacted with student from other districts.

Along with the TBHS Student Council group, 29 of my students attended a regional leadership conference in Mexico, MO. While at this conference the students had a guest speaker, Yahya, who was phenomenal! Afterwards they attended several breakout sessions for ideas to bring back to NGC.

Although short, I do think the conference was worthwhile and the students really enjoyed it. I look forward to more leadership events in the future!

Recent Happenings

On October 30, 2015, we went to Mexico High School for the Student Council Fall Leadership Conference. We learned lots of good things that we were able to bring back to our school to hopefully put into practice. We discussed some good fundraiser ideas, dance themes and other fun school activities.

In addition, we also recently finished our Pennies for Patients campaign, with over $900 in donations. Coach Gregory's ac.lab won the competition (amounts totaling near $136.00), Mrs. Lovell's ac.lab trailed right behind (amounts totaling near $124.00). Alexa and Brianna Pfeiffer collected $125 each as well to contribute. The winning classes will be rewarded on November 24th with pizza and donuts.

Monday, November 16th the Ninth Grade Center School Store opened. There have not been a lot of visitors yet, but hopefully business will pick up soon. The school store will be open Mondays and Wednesdays before school and Fridays during AAA.
