6th Grade Social Studies (Mr. Stanifer)

In 6th grade Social Studies we have made it to May. Here we are learning about Latin America (everything South of the U.S). We are studying and comparing three major civilizations (Maya, Aztec, Inca) as well as learning modern countries and geography. May 18th will be our country's test and the last big grade of the 9 weeks. Finals will occur on Monday through Wednesday of week nine.

6th Grade Math (Mrs. Ramey)

It is hard to believe that we are in our last month of this school year! We will be doing a mini unit on data and statistics where we will work with different graphs and what they represent. We will also be doing a lot of review of some of the major topics that they will continue to use in seventh grade and beyond. I am excited to watch all of the students finish the year strong. We've got this!

7th/8th Grade Math (Mrs. Emenhiser)

It’s May!!! We made it! Seems like everything hits the last month. With the weather getting warmer, spring sports in full swing, state testing, reviewing for finals, a Washington DC trip for some, life seems to be going at warp speed. No matter if your student is in my 8th grade class or my 7th grade class, please take the time to have a reflective conversation with them. Parents, please don’t settle for one word answers! What did your child like about this year, what are they proud of themselves for, what goals did they meet, what goals did they fall short of? Are they already thinking ahead to how next year will play out for them? Communication is key for staying connected!

7th graders created enlarged scale drawings of some of their favorite snacks. Some ended up larger than them! Collaboration stills were put to the test as they had to split up the work and yet the end product had to match up with their teammates.

Below are some of the classroom projects we have been working on during our testing week.

8th grade created Transformation - Google Sheets to create Transformation designs with their initials.

Art (Ms. Sandberg)

7th graders are getting into spring by painting spring floral still lifes.
