COVID-19 Edition
The Continuation of Jobs document sent in Dr. Evers most recent Smore outlines what you are responsible for when not physically on campus.
Only employees that are asked by their supervisors to be in the district should be on campus. We must maintain a limited staff on campus to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Absolutely no one should be on campus that isn’t required to be physically present.
Hourly Personnel
Only twelve-month hourly staff, bus, and cafeteria should be in the district at this time. If you are not in these categories, please get with your principal in order to request approval from the superintendent.
Payday
If you are on FMLA or Workman's comp leave, the laws related to administrative pay will affect the April payroll due to the leave pay period ending March 15th before the closure.
2019 Individual Tax Changes
As always, consult your tax professional for tax advice. Below are some general updates related to your 2019 individual tax returns.
- Taxpayers getting a refund are encouraged to file their taxes now.
- The Treasury and IRS announced deferment of federal tax payments, interest-free and penalty-free, for 90 days, until July 15. Individuals and self-employed taxpayers can defer up to $1 million for the tax year 2019 federal tax payments. This deferment also applies to tax the year 2020 estimated tax payments previously due on April 15, 2020. Deferment of federal tax payments means that if you owe money on your federal taxes, you will get more time to pay what you owe.
State: The deadline to file and pay the 2019 individual income tax is extended until May 15, 2020.
- Taxpayers getting a refund are encouraged to file their taxes now.
