Boxtops for Education March 1st deadline approaching
A collection sheet is being sent home to each family this week. Fill it up, send it back, and ask us for another one if you'd like! Back in the fall, we earned $219.40 as a school... can we beat that for March???
Here are three ways you can help:
- Simply inspect your packages before sending them off to the recycle bin. Look for the Boxtop logo and rip, clip, or snip off that little coupon... it's worth 10 cents! It's amazing how much money we can earn when everyone sends in those little coupons so please send them in before March 1st.
- Enter Saint Michael School into the contest mentioned above. You can help increase our chances of winning by visiting this link and entering your name and contact information. The sweepstakes rules allow for (1) entry per person per email address per day!
- Tell your friends and family to do the same by sharing the link or asking for clippings. Give them a little sandwich bag and encourage them to save it on their refrigerator or near their recycling bin. Every coupon counts!
We can use the funds earned from Boxtops for all sorts of needs: classroom supplies, paying for field trips, new PE or playground equipment, and even microphones for our drama program.
Thank you for your support of this program!
Congratulations to our 2018/2019 Basketball Team for a Fantastic Season!
The Saints played their last game of the season on Tuesday,
then finished out the year with a banquet
and parents/teachers vs. players basketball game in Rand Hall.
We are pleased to share that Saint Michael High School has been invited to join the River Valley Athletic League.
We started our season with some big deficits, but by the end of the season we had a 3 and 11 record, and the score of our final game was 33 to 38. As the season progressed, we saw a vast improvement in our players’ skills. As the first Varsity High School basketball team at Saint Michael School since 1967, we have a young team with a lot of potential. There was only one senior on the team this year, Jacob Christi, who was our top scorer most games. The majority of our team consists of Freshmen and Sophomores, so we are looking forward to many more years of growth and improvement. We will also field a Varsity soccer team in the fall.
Our thanks to the SMS parents who stepped up again this season to coach: Mike Tatro and Nate Chechile.
A special thank you to our behind-the-scenes Athletic Director, Karlie Borst, for all of her hard work to make this year a success, and to ensure our participation in the River Valley Athletic League for years to come.
Congratulations to all of our players for a fantastic season.
You represented our school well... GO SAINTS!
IT'S TIME TO REGISTER FOR GIRLS ON THE RUN!
Did you know: GOTR has Junior Coaching opportunities so if you are in 7th thru 12th grade and would like to get involved, please let us know!
Girls on the Run 2019 season starts the week of March 4th and registration began this past Monday! The program will be held on Mondays and Fridays from 3:15 until 4:30 beginning in March.
The program is designed to inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind! Over the course of the 10 week program, coaches will guide the girls through a curricula of dynamic discussions, activities and running games aimed at developing confidence and promoting an appreciation of health and fitness. The program culminates with a celebratory 5K event in May. You can register online at the following link: https://www.gotrvt.org/Register-Now
- We are still seeking coaches to help with the program. We understand that committing to both days each week may be difficult – so even if you can join us a few times throughout the season that would be a great help!
- Any girl in grades 7-12 are also invited to join us as a Junior Coach!
If interested please contact Tammy Richards at tamikoch1@yahoo.com. We need your help to make this program a success!
Next Monday, Last Winter Sports Day for the Season
- a packed lunch if headed to Mt Snow
- appropriate attire on Monday for their activity
- and a booster seat for your child if needed
Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation.
