A Note from Dr. Miles
Good morning Parents and Guardians!
Let this day be a day on and not a day off as we celebrate Martin Luther King Day. There are several events going on in the City of Coatesville to commemorate this day. Feel free to bring the children and join members of the community at Gateway Park in Coatesville, New Life in Christ, the CYWA, or Atkinson Memorial Center to celebrate, participate, and witness re-enacted events, activites, and acts of service to remember Martin Luther King Jr.
As I stressed the importance of reading last week and continue to encourage you to revisit the tips I shared, I will also emphasize the importance of reminding your child to staying ENGAGED in their learning. Our teachers strive every day to ensure that the students are learning the curriculum and putting forth their best efforts in all they do.
One thing I have noticed is that some things that students bring to school are and have become a distraction to them. I understand that the students are excited to share their Christmas goodies and all, but please make sure that students do not bring toys from home to school. Fidgets are sensory tools that may help students meet the needs they have at certain moments. They are also in Leo's cart at time for students to exchange for PRIDE paws. In addition, please be aware by checking your child's bookbag and pockets to make sure they are leaving the distractions at home.
**Don't forget about spirit week...it starts tomorrow!** (See the calendar below)
Kind regards,
Dr. Miles
