Experts needed
2nd grade is thrilled to roll out an Authentic Learning Experience (ALE), and we need your help! To give you a short background, an ALE allows student learning to be personalized and meaningful. It enhances academic opportunities and deepens learning for ALL learners. It follows our district’s Learner Centric Model: learning is SOCIAL, INSPIRING, DYNAMIC, AND EMPOWERING. That being said, we are looking to make real world connections with presentations from environmentalists, botanists, gardeners, civil engineers and cartogrophers (to name a few) during the week of February 19. If you are available or know of someone who might be available to present on the environment (habitats, animals, plants, landforms) to 2nd grade students, please reach out to 2nd grade teacher Colea Podoloff at podoloffc@ltisdschools.org. The presentation can be in person or Skype/FaceTime. Many thanks!
Science Fair Kudos
Students share discoveries from science projects with peers. Learning is social.
Students will be building robots in Discovery. Learning is empowering.
Fitness is fun everyday in PE. Keep moving! Learning is dynamic.

Attendance Zone Feedback Opportunity
With the opening of Bee Cave Middle School this August and Elementary School Number 7 in August of 2020, current elementary and middle school attendance zones must be realigned. Between January 17-28, a two-way engagement tool called Thoughtexchange will be used to gather your feedback to share with the School Attendance Zone Advisory Committee which convenes in Feburary.
During this process, you will be asked to respond to one open-ended question and then assign ‘stars’ or ratings to ideas shared by others. This will allow you to participate in an interactive process regarding what is important to the community. Rest assured, your thoughts and stars are anonymous. New thoughts will be added to the conversation as others join in the exchange. We encourage you to actively participate and return often to view and rate additional thoughts. The more you rate, the clearer the priorities regarding realignment will become.
Join the exchange now:
Should you need technical assistance, please contact Thoughtexchange by phone at 800-361-9027 ext. 4, via email at help@thoughtexchange.com, or you may visit www.thoughtexchange.com.
