Getting to Know the Moby Icons
Math
Moby Math finds and fixes missing math skills that are essential for math comprehension.
Fact Fluency
Fact Fluency's adaptive instruction enables students to develop math fact fluency quickly. From students who are acquiring facts rapidly to those who are struggling to catch up.
Number Sense
The goal of Number Sense is to teach every student how to easily add and subtract large numbers without using a pencil! It offers six modules manipulatives, introducing new concepts and tracking progress.
Early Reading Trio
Three modules that work together to reinforce early reading skills: words, stories, writing.
Reading Stories
Moby Reading pairs literature and informational texts with similar topics to encourage deep reading and facilitate learning. Each grade has three levels with ten lessons at each level. Each lesson has at least one literature text and two informational texts. The reading level adjusts if comprehension questions become too difficult.
Reading Skills Literature & Informational
Literature skills teach the specific skills of reading, breaking reading standards into small lessons and targeted practice problems. All lessons begin with an animated Teach Me lesson. All problems have instant feedback and parts of the problems have a read-aloud icon. Short answer questions are excellent practice for state testing. Moby automated grading makes the grading process easier for teachers.
Vocabulary
The Vocabulary Builder supports students as they learn new words. The adaptive pretest ensures students only practice with unknown words. Students review words and build to mastery. Teachers can easily see student progress over time. Teachers also have the ability to create custom word lists.
Language
Language lessons focus on comprehensive language skills essential for writing success. Grammar lessons follow the same Teach Me Lesson pattern. Moby focuses on the topics where students struggle in the placement test.
Writing Workshop & Assignment
Writing Workshop provides short lessons to students with simple steps to walk through various types of writing. Each lesson includes direct instruction, modeling and hands-on practice. The Writing Assignment module is a submission-grading-revision module for any type of writing. There is also a Short Answer module across all subject areas. Both modules use the same easy-to-use markup and grading for teachers to save time and provide quality feedback to students. Teachers can create their own rubrics or use those pre-loaded in Moby.
Roster
This management hub allows you to customize your Moby settings. Teachers are able to control login settings, curriculum settings, share students with other teachers and create groups.
Curriculum Settings
Change your curriculum settings to reflect your classroom standards; adjust time, goals, passing scores, etc. Teachers can even hide subjects and modules you don't want your students to access.
Time
Time button will not only show you how much time students have spent on each activity at school & at home but will also alert you to where students need your help. Under the alerts tab, you can see where students missed problems and offer real-time intervention.
