Welcome Volunteers!
We are excited to welcome families back in the building! On Monday, March 7, 2022, we will begin welcoming approved volunteers on campus to support us with our lunch and dismissal procedures. We are excited for you to be here and greatly appreciate all your support.
If you are interested in volunteering, simply sign up on the designated sheet here. Also, be sure that you have completed and submitted a volunteer form prior to signing up. You can access the volunteer background check here. Once the volunteer application and background check are approved, volunteers may sign up.
Also, beginning March 21, 2022, families will have the option to hold ARDS & Section 504 meetings in person. The District will continue to offer parents and guardians the option to participate in these meetings remotely, as well. Please note that all procedures, requirements, and protections for special education and Section 504 continue to be the same in both settings.
Starting March 28, 2022, we will have opportunities for families to sign up to eat lunch with their student(s). More information about lunchtime sign-ups coming soon. Please be on the look-out for a sign up sheet.

Attendance Matters
What does the 90% rule mean for your child?
School Districts are required to enforce the 90% rule which states that students in grades Kindergarten through 12th must attend class for 90% of the time it is offered to receive credit or a final grade. This rule applies even if your child has an IEP or 504 Plan.
The average school year is 180 days. This means your child can only miss about 18 days of school.
- A student who is in attendance for less than 90 percent, of the school days may be given credit or a final grade IF the student completes a plan approved by the principal that provides for the student to meet the instructional requirements of the class. A student that does not meet the 90% requirement may need to attend summer school in June in order to receive credit.
The 90 percent rule applies to all absences, including excused absences.
If your child is out of school, please email Lisa Dohm at Lisa_Dohm@LagoVista.txed.net. She will need to mark the absence.
If you have questions about your child’s attendance, please reach out to the Principal Bonnie Sullivan at Bonnie_Sullivan@LagoVista.txed.net
