RHS Exceeds Growth!!
Of the 2,464 schools in NC who were eligible to receive a growth score, Richlands High School had the 68th highest growth score in the state!! This places us in the top 2.7% of all schools in the STATE!!

Graduation Project Presentations
- We are looking for judges for the Graduation Project Presentations. The dates are December 5th and December 7th. Registration starts at 5:00 pm as well as a small meal. Announcements
- Make-up picture day is Wednesday, November 15th. Picture packets are available in the front office.
- Any student that is taking a Dual Enrollment class during the spring semester, please ensure you have all paperwork completed to include a current transcript, ready to turn in to Mrs. Farner on November 8th.
- Students interested in the Industrial Technology Grant should sign up to see Mrs. Farner after you have discussed this with your Career and Tech Ed teacher. Programs include Drafting, Electrical and Electronic programs, Diesel Mechanics, Automotive Technology and others.
- Freshman and sophomores – On Thursday, December 7 there will be a field trip about Expedition Careers for the new Career Center at the Duplin County Events Center. We will take the first 80 that sign up and turn in permission forms. See Mr. Fuller in room 305 for more information.
- Attention all who are auditioning for the musical: There is a MANDATORY parent/student meeting on November 7 at 5:30pm in the auditorium. You and your parent MUST attend in order for you to audition.
- We have extra HOMECOMING T-Shirts available if you missed getting yours!

Classroom News
- 9th grade AVID students are putting together community service projects. They will propose them to the SITE team in November.
- 10th grade AVID students have been completing their TEDtalks. Thanks to Ms. Dransoff, we have been utilizing the auditorium for the presentations.
- Mrs. Tripp's Art classes displayed some of their sculpture on the Day of the Dead in the media center. The Day of the Dead is a Mexican Holiday that occurs at the same time as Halloween. This holiday is a time when ancestors are remembered and honored.
- Food & Nutrition II students were visited by Chef Miles Payne from Johnson & Wales recently. Chef Payne gave our students information about college life, how and when to fill out applications, costs, etc. As an extra treat, he cooked Korean rice for the students to sample.
Club News
If you are interested in joining a new club, RHS will have an Interact Club starting Tuesday, November 7. Come to Mr. Fuller’s room (305) during Lunch A block of Power Hour to find out more information. The Interact Club is an extension of Rotary International. See Mr. Fuller for more information.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be holding an event November 14th from 5:30-7:00. Jeff Banks will be the guest speaker. All students and community members are welcome to attend.
On Monday, October 30, the RHS Beta Club inducted 63 new members! Congratulations!

Guidance News
- A representative from Coastal Carolina Community College will be on campus every Wednesday, sign up in guidance if you would like to meet with the representative.
- Are you looking for SAT hours? If so, The Empty Bowls Project will be held on November 11th from 2-8 pm at the Onslow County Farmer’s Market. This event will benefit the Onslow Community Outreach Soup Kitchen. Sign-up sheet is in guidance!
- Anyone who is interested in pursuing a career as a teacher and interested in attending ECU might be interested in the "iTeach" event. This event will be held on December 2nd from 9 am to 1 pm. You will need to register in advance. Please see guidance for more information.
Senior Corner
- Practice presentations will be scheduled the week of November 13th. Only students that have passed the paper product and portfolio will be scheduled.
- Prom tickets are now on sale for $60.00 until December 20th. NO PROM TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AFTER DECEMBER 20TH. You will need a contract when you purchase your ticket. See Mrs. Justine Smith in room 103.
- Seniors: Links to Senior Quotes and Senior Superlatives have been emailed to you. Both are due by December 1st.
Teacher of the Month
Each month, STUDENTS ONLY will vote for the teacher of the month. They will input their name, the teacher's name, and why they should be voted teacher of the month. The teacher with the most votes wins.

Musical News
Mandatory parent/student meeting for all auditioning for this year’s musical. Tuesday, November 7 at 5:30 in the auditorium.
Musical auditions will be taking place in the auditorium during Power Hour the week of November 13-17.

- Indoor track is looking for more participants. If interested, please see Coach T. Brown in Hut 8
- Congratulations to the Varsity Football team on their 43-25 victory over Dixon!
- Congratulations to the JV Football team on their 38-0 victory over Dixon. This win makes our JV Wildcats conference champs!
