What's Up In The Classroom?
Your child should still be responding in schoology every night. All students are in novel groups and respond to the chapter we are reading. We also respond each night to a non-fiction writing. See below for our schedule:
Monday=Wonderopolis
Tuesday=What Is It?
Wednesday=Shades of Meaning (Vocabulary work)
Thursday=DOGO News/Naional Geographic for Kids/News-o-Matic
Friday=Picture of the Day/Week Response
All of these can be found in schoology. Ask your child to show you what we are learning!
We also practiced homophones (click on the word to get our notebook), use of quotation marks and punctuation.
Math
We're learning about geometry. This week we studied angles, lines, using a protractor and line symmetry. Please practice using a protractor with your child. They have an app on their iPads called Pencil Box that has this tool to practice with! Test is next week!
Science
We finished our Career and Technology Unit and presented our work. I am so impressed with what they can do! Ask them to show you their project and also their grade! Here is a link to their final project click here: Careers and Technology Final Project
Your child has been investigating the nervous system and the process that scientists use to do experiments. See the two lessons we learned this week!

Writing
We are studying poetry, drama and prose. This week we determined the characteristics that define each. We also are practicing writing a variety of poetry types. Click here to learn about Cinquains
