Warrior News
A Weekly Newsletter for Warrior Families and Students
June 5, 2020
Hey Warrior Nation,
Can you believe that the last week of the 2019-20 school year is upon us? What a journey it has been. The last several weeks our students and families have reminded me of the power of perspective as they shared stories of gratitude amidst the challenges that COVID 19 has brought. It was inspiring to hear so many Warrior families finding strength and courage in the face of so many challenges.
This week again, I found my spirits lifted by the character and the courage of our students as they asked questions and struggled to make sense of the hurt and chaos in our nation. Through these conversations I found myself drawn to one of my favorite Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. quotes, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Having conversations about race, injustice, and inequity can be challenging to say the least, but it is essential that we do so. The genuine care and thoughtfulness articulated by many of our students in these conversations was nothing short of inspiring. Truly listening to a different perspective and seeking to understand are powerful skills that can help to create a foundation of trust to build upon in any conversation. As challenging as these times are for communities across our nation, my interactions with our students remind me that there is great hope for our future. A future that is more inclusive and filled with greater equity, and hopefully, love.
Let’s make our final week together count! Rally together as a family and talk about the difficult issues of racism and injustice. Rally together to learn about other perspectives. Rally together and commit to demonstrating more of the care, compassion, and the love that makes our community a special place. Rally together and finish out our school year like WARRIORS!

Commencement Ceremony
As the date approaches a link will be shared via Infinite Campus Messenger and there will be a banner on the Muskego High School webpage with the link to view the event. The video will premier at 10:30 am on June 13th. We encourage our entire Warrior Nation to tune in to listen to the inspiring words of student and faculty speeches and to watch our graduates cross the stage.
To our seniors and their families, please remember that though we may be separated physically, our entire community stands with you and is incredibly proud of all you have accomplished throughout your journey.
The final message in the virtual ceremony will be from our Student Council Vice President Rabia Ahmed and will include the cue to move the tassel from the right side to the left. Our hope is that all seniors can do this together at this time. Please capture this symbolic event with pictures and videos and share them with us via social media or email. Let’s show the world our Warrior Pride and appreciation for the class of 2020!

WarriorBots Announcement
Mechanical
The mechanical team started to design a t-shirt cannon robot and had some team members make prototype cannons. They also talked about what improvements could be made to this year’s robot to be ready for the off-season and next year. The team got together and wrote down everything they could about the robot, so that it can be published in a robot write-up later.
Electrical
The electrical team talked about electrical components that they can use for future seasons. They also discussed techniques that anyone on the team needed help with. This included soldering and crimping wires. They plan to continue learning about skills that they think would be important for when the team can get back to working in person.
Programming
The programming team worked on how to organize the public code and how to organize the code for the build season. During the next month, they will be coding the practice bot to practice and improve their programming skills.
Business
The social media team has been working hard to post more often. They honored our seniors in their senior spotlight posts and have been working to show the team meetings over video chat. They have also been working on online fundraising ideas.
