Girls in Technology
Thursday, April 28th is International Girls in ICT (Information Communication Technology) Day! In honor of this, Sarah Mahoney at LCCC and Team STEAM Robotics are hosting a Girls in Tech event at the Lawrence College and Career Center. This event will promote activities, coursework, opportunities, and careers in tech for middle and high school female-identifying and nonbinary students in Lawrence Public Schools. Our informative celebration will include discussion panels, presentations, demonstrations, and networking. We would love to have your students join in the fun!
This event is free to attend and busing will be provided to and from home schools during the day. Space is limited, so we’re encouraging students to sign up as soon as possible to secure their spot. Students can register through the QR code on the event flyer, provided here or posted within the school library. Students can register directly here.
The deadline to register is Friday, April 22, or until spaces are filled.
Who Wants to Go to Rome? Greece? Boston?
Hi families,
Mark your calendar for April 19 at 6:30 PM.
We’re going to Rome and Greece AND Boston in 2023, and you’re invited!
I'm excited to tell you more about the trips I'm planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. Please be sure to register for this info session to be considered for this opportunity:
Interested in traveling to Rome and Greece? https://bit.ly/3M3ozHZ
Interested in traveling to Boston? https://bit.ly/3xeH7Ro
Parents are encouraged to travel with their students on either of these trips.
When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure. I've chosen these two destinations as the final adventures of my career with student learning in mind. I've spent 30 years teaching American and Ancient World histories. Both itineraries - Rome and Greece AND Boston - will be CHOCK FULL of amazing experiences that will enrich your child (and YOU) for years to come!!
In this info session, we’ll talk about:
· How these opportunities will benefit your child
· What we’ll see and do on our trips
· Everything that’s included in the experience
· How your child could earn academic credit
· How we’re keeping this safe and affordable
· How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period
Registration for the info session is mandatory, and a parent or guardian must attend. Register here: https://bit.ly/3M3ozHZ. (Can’t make it? Choose “No, but send info” so you don’t miss out.)
Can't wait to see you there!
