2020-2021 Sacred Heart School Calendar

Good Morning Sacred Heart Families,

The 2020-2021 Sacred Heart School Calendar is below. We are planning on returning to school on August 31st & September 1st. We will be conducting our staggered start so please take note that those students who attend school on August 31st will be off on September 1st and vice versa the next day.

Sacred Heart will currently still maintain a 180 day school schedule and not convert to the 170 day DESE time frame. Those ten days will be used as possible cleaning days throughout the year if the need arises. We will notify families as soon as possible with schedule changes.

Please note: change to upcoming school calendar. Due to the cancellation of Marathon Monday, there WILL BE school on Monday, September 14th.

Thank you,

Sister Lydia & Sarah Chick

Grades 1-5 & Middle School Supply Lists

Below you will find the supply lists for the upcoming school year.

The children will be responsible for carrying their school Chromebooks to and from school for homework. This year, we will be looking to cut down on the numbers of books & materials that will go between school and home. A Chromebook measures about 11.5 " X 9" so a "mini briefcase" (ideally one with a shoulder strap) will serve to replace a backpack for younger students. Below is an example Sister Lydia found on Amazon:

Targus Slipskin Laptop Case;

Also, please have the items below at your child's disposal for the start of the year;

    • a combination of cotton and disposable masks, labeled

    • breakaway lanyards to secure their masks

    • paper towels

    • Clorox wipes

    • hand sanitizer

    • Kleenex

    • Large box of gallon size slide lock Ziploc bags

    • 100 count brown lunch bags

    • 1 roll of masking tape

Parents Association: Used Uniform Requests

Used Uniform Requests Accepted Now Through August 14

As you continue to enjoy your summer break, remember, it's never too early to start planning for September! The Parents Association will be accepting used uniform online requests between now and August 14th. If you have already submitted a request since quarantine began in March you do not need to resubmit the request unless sizes, etc. have changed. Requests will be reviewed and filled based on inventory available and we will schedule a day in mid August for contact-less payment/pick up at the school. We encourage you to consider requesting a few items from our gently used inventory, as protocols in the Fall will require daily laundering of uniforms. We apologize, but at this time we are not able to accept any donations of uniforms. To order new uniforms and confirm required items per grade, please see pricing and other details here.

Uniforms - Middle School Fitting

Monday, Aug. 10th, 9-11am

329 Bishops Highway

Kingston, MA

Middle School Gym Uniforms and Winter ¼ Zip Ordering will take place on Monday, August 10th from 9 am -11 am in the ES auditorium. Masks must be worn and there will be a size run for students to see their sizes. If you do not need to come see uniforms, we will be providing order forms next week.

Buses: 2020-2021 School Year

Due to Covid-19 Restrictions and busing protocols, school buses are not cost effective for the upcoming school year, therefore they will not be offered. Please utilize this survey: https://forms.gle/4HdmcsdwcNKajsJ5A so we can create a directory for carpool assistance. Survey end date will be August, 14th.

Return to School Plans

We will be setting up some classrooms over the coming days and will take pictures of the layouts so that everyone can see what a typical room will look like before they return to school. We will include the pictures in the next Newsletter.

Plymouth Area Coalition

The Food Pantry is looking for additional items. For those that are able to help, the information is listed below. Thank you
