Happy New Year!
Happy New Year All! Hope you had time to relax and enjoy your time over break!
I started a couple new books over break. From time to time I need help on keeping the main thing the main thing, holiday break was a good time for some recharging. As I perused the pages common themes appeared such as; our work is important, our kids have never needed us more, and one refreshing theme of reclaiming our calling and getting back to our main purpose, why we got into this profession in the first place.
I believe in what we are doing. First we make relationships our top priority. No longer are we afraid to take risks, to fail, or afraid to reimagine what a meaningful education can look like, but probably most important is that we believe we are the ones who can make a difference. No longer do we wait for permission to do what we know in our hearts is right so together we learn with our kids in creating positive change.
The two books I mentioned are listed below and I would recommend them to anyone who was looking for regaining an important perspective on why schools should exist.
As we start a new year together, I look forward to continuing learning together.
Glad you're here!
