To celebrate the great year we've had.......

.....we will be having special theme days starting this Thursday. Our special days are listed below. The dates in which the kids are asked to bring something special from home are written in bold. When the day contains a special activity, that activity will take place during the last 45 minutes of class. Also, please note that if your child has a summer birthday, we will be celebrating those on May 31!

Thursday, May 19 - Silly Sock/Crazy Hat Day - Wear silly socks or a crazy hat to school!

Friday, May 20 - Play Doh, Paint and Puzzle Day

Monday, May 23 - Block Day - Get creative with the wood blocks, Magna Tiles and Legos.

Tuesday, May 24 - Free Choice at the Computer Lab - make a word cloud, play a game, write a story - your choice!

Wednesday, May 25 - Bug Day - bring any bug catching equipment you might have at home! After reading books about bugs, we will search the school grounds for them!

Thursday May 26 - Play the App of your choice on the iPads!

Friday, May 27 - America Day - wear red, white and blue to celebrate Memorial Day and learn about our patriotic holidays!

Tuesday, May 31 - Celebrate summer birthdays! (If your child has a birthday in June, July or August, he/she may bring a small "prize" to pass out to their classmates. We'll sing Happy Birthday and give the students their birthday crowns!)

Wednesday, June 1 - Field Day!

Thursday, June 2 - Kindergarten celebration on the playground!

In the computer lab this week the students wrote about their favorite ocean animal and inserted clip art into their document. Below the morning class shows off their finished products.

This week Mrs. Uhrich's class had "K" day in their alphabet countdown. The students in her room gave our afternoon (K for kindergarten) students a tour of their classroom and read them a book.

We started our seed and plants theme this week. During centers the students worked to separate the "seeds" from the "not seeds."

At another center the students examined the inside of a seed and found the "baby plant" that had started growing.

Later in the day we went outside to plant and water our seeds.
