Saint Joseph School - June 15th Update
What School Will Look Like in August
I know there are many questions about what school will look like in the fall. Last week the Governor of Indiana released the guidelines and recommendations for schools. This morning the Dekalb County Health Department met with all of the schools in Dekalb County and other medical personnel. We agreed to create a unified plan for all Dekalb County schools, one that follows the Dekalb County Health Department recommendations. Schools will take June to finish their plans and fine-tune them in July. We should be able to have a completed plan after our next meeting with all of the schools and the Dekalb Department of Health in mid-July. The Dekalb County Health Department wants to reassess data from the virus, (the number of cases, hospitalizations, etc.), after the 4th of July holiday before schools finalize their plans. All plans will be presented to the school board for their recommendations and will need to be approved by Father Jim Shafer. Rest assured, we will do what's best for St. Joseph School.
Thank you for your prayers and patience as we navigate the pandemic as a school family.
A Survey Will Be Sent Next Week. We will be sending out a survey, created with input from all Dekalb County schools, to St. Joseph families next week. It's important for you to complete so the plan for all schools in Dekalb County includes your voice. I will send the link in the Go Homes and Flocknote reminder once it's released.
