Be A Scout Update/Change
MUST KNOW:
BeAScout.org Relaunched With Improved User Experience
BeAScout.org has been relaunched on the WordPress platform with an improved user experience including faster search results, as well as tighter content focus. The biggest pain-point expressed by customers has been how slow BeAScout is at displaying results of a ZIP Code search. The new site is a significant improvement in this area, with search results typically displayed in under 3 seconds, compared to almost 14 seconds on the old platform. And, while the site is optimized for mobile devices, it works great on desktop computers, too. Another finding from user feedback concerned customers' ability to simply find a unit and sign up, if possible. As a result, the site content is more focused on the “how” of joining than the “why,” and getting customers to the information they want quickly. Customers can filter search results in a variety of ways, including showing only units accepting online registration, or just dens for boys or girls, or just Sea Scout ships. Or, even units accepting online applications, and dens for boys or girls and Sea Scout ships all at the same time. In the spirit of continuous improvement, look for more feedback-based improvements in the coming weeks and months.

Rally Night for Cub Scouts
Your unit will hold a “sign-up” night at a prominent location in the community, such as a school, church, or community center. At this sign-up night, you will provide basic information about what Scouting offers youth and families in the area.

Friends of Scouting Request for Support
These funds are super critical to maintaining and improving our camps as well as helping with programs in our council. We need help from you and your network of Scouters to meet our goal this year. The plan is to complete this campaign drive by early July.
Please help our council provide quality facilities and programs for our boys and girls. Thanks for sharing this with your network and for contributing to Scouting through your time, talents, and financial contributions. Brazos Valley is the best!!!

Popcorn Update
Trails End has put together a table sales kit to help your unit with Show and Sells.
It will have a vinyl banner : 2.5' x6'
(See image below)
a table cloth to cover a 6' table: 60"x102"
and Velcro: Five 3"x1" strips
Here is the best part!
The table sales kit is $19.99. Payment for your kits will be taken off your units sales profits at the end of the campaign.
You can pick up your table sales kits at the popcorn training conferences in July!
