From the Principal...
May 27th, 2022
Dear Westbrook Families,
It has been a joy to serve the Westbrook families this past year as principal. It has been rewarding to partner with you while your children are in their early developmental years. I’ve enjoyed warmly welcoming students and wishing them a great day of learning, and it has been fun to be present in classrooms, provide read-alouds, and connect with students throughout their day at school.
I am continually amazed at the Westbrook staff's dedication and care for our students and their learning. I feel honored to work and learn alongside such talented educators, and I look forward to growing professionally with them. It is a privilege to lead a school community committed to laying the groundwork for students’ love for learning and care for others.
We explored the theme of resilience this year. Classroom read-alouds, videos, classroom meetings, assemblies, and staff meetings supported the theme. We acknowledged the challenges that students, staff, and families faced during the past two years, celebrated our adaptability, and highlighted the importance of teaching our students the skill of resilience.
I want to wish you and your family a fun and safe summer filled with relaxation and family time. I want to encourage you to be intentional about engaging your child in conversation and reading with them this summer. We look forward to seeing many of our families back in the Fall, and we wish our first graders the very best at their new schools!
For your children,
Danielle Crandall
