The graduating classes from our five high schools graced the stage at Zack Earp Stadium on consecutive evenings this past week as we honored our graduates with a traditional diploma ceremony. Student speeches eloquently captured the essence of the Class of 2023 student experience these past four years. The optimism, hope, and excitement that characterized this class of students was an inspiration to all of us who had a role in their development and success.

The Class of 2023 are an amazing group of young people who are now prepared to make their mark on the world thanks to the education, support, guidance, and love from the community of people who have touched their lives in one way or the other throughout their journey to this point in their young lives. Thank you to everyone on our team and thank you parents, families, and community members for teaming up with us to provide our students with a high-quality educational experience. And finally, to our students, thank you for enriching our lives and sharing these past twelve years with us. Good luck, always. Go out in the world and make us all proud.

HONOR SERVICE MEMBERS WHO HAVE DIED IN MILITARY SERVICE

Pay tribute to the U.S. men and women who died during military service to the United States by participating in the National Moment of Remembrance at 3:00 p.m. local time this coming Monday. It's an opportunity to pause and consider the true meaning of Memorial Day.

CITY OF RIVERSIDE TOWN HALL MEETING ABOUT TRAFFIC SAFETY

As I reported in my message last week, a fatal two-car accident occurred a week ago this past Tuesday on Arlington Avenue near RMK elementary school around 7:30 in the morning as students and families were on their way to school. Safety concerns regarding the stretch of road at the location where the accident happened will be the topic of discussion on May 30, at 6 PM, led by Riverside City officials at a Town Hall meeting at the La Sierra Senior Center on 5215 La Sierra Ave, Building B, Riverside, CA 92505.
