Enjoy your three day weekend! Remember no school on Monday, October 12!
On October 13 we welcome more of our Mathews Mavs back to campus for Face to Face learning. As such, we need to take a moment to remind all our families of the protocols we have in place to keep our students happy and healthy on campus. Information is provided below...just a click away. Thank you for reviewing and following the required expectations.
Parents will be notified on Friday afternoon your child's teacher.
To Our NEW FACE to FACE Students Returning on October 13:
In addition to the district training information below we have embedded our original e-News from September. Click the button to take you to a SMORE that will help answer all your questions about returning to school. It is similar to the one we provided to our families whose students returned in September.
PICTURE DAY: October 13
PICTURE DAY is October 13 for individual school pictures and for our yearbook. ALL students will have an opportunity to have their picture taken. We will have safety precautions in place for both our Face to Face learners and for our School to Home learners.
SUPPLY PICK-UP: October 13:
Grade level, Art and Music supplies will be available for pickup for our School at Home families on Tuesday, October 13. Tables will be set up on the porch outside of Caravan Way for School to Home families to pick up materials for your child's learning.
FEDERAL MEAL PROGRAM:
At this time all students receive free breakfast and lunch. This should continue until the end of December unless funds are exhausted before that time. Students who had previously qualified for Free/Reduced meals during the 2019-20 school year are no longer eligible unless you submit a new application. You will find the application below with our breakfast and lunch menus. We encourage you to submit a new application to continue services.
VETERANS DAY:
Sadly, we will not be able to open our doors for annual Veterans Day celebration; but that does not mean we won't celebrate a different way. Please read information below regarding Veterans Day 2020!
PLANO ISD PROTOCOLS FOR FACE TO FACE
SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Signing Your Child Out of School
Office staff will sign the student out, documenting both the time the student left the building, as well as the time the parent requested for early dismissal.
Your child will be brought to you. You will need to provide ID to pick up your child when your child is brought to the front entrance by staff as it may not be Mrs. Tipsword who walks your child to the front door. Thank you.
HOW PARENTS NOTIFY THE DISTRICT
Picture DAy
For our School to Home Students we will have an open window from 10:00-1:30. Using the Caravan Way carpool loop we will take individual pictures in a sanitized area of our school we do not use during the day. In addition to your child's annual picture, this is the picture used in the school yearbook.
We will have someone at the door checking off students names. Students will sit in carpool until they can come into the cafeteria to take picture.
Students who do not pre purchase will receive a proof to order from. We will send the PDF to parents so they can pre purchase online.
If parents decide not to bring their child for school pictures, they will be permitted to take and submit a school picture to be included in the yearbook. More information on that to follow.
VETERANS DAY
Thank You Ms. Eldridge & Mr. Taylor!
With your help, Ms. Eldridge is bringing an Honor Wall for our Veterans to Mathews so our Face to Face students and staff will always be reminded of our heros who have served our country. This will no doubt become a new Mathews tradition in the years to come!
You can access the format by clicking the button below.
Examples are provided below the button.
In addition, Mr. Taylor will also be creating a virtual tribute to celebrate our family and friends who are veterans. If you would like to submit a picture of your special veteran, you can email it to Mr. Taylor at Justin.Taylor@pisd.edu. Please include your special veteran's name and ties to Mathews. Your picture may include your vet with family members as well if you like. It will be part of the online virtual tribute.
