Remembrance Day Prayer
God of freedom,
On the day of remembrance
We give thanks and honour for the lives
Of those who have helped make our beautiful country
A place of freedom and peace. Your son Jesus showed us
that the greatest love is in giving one’s life for the sake of others.
May we always remember The generosity and bravery
Of those who have died in war
As they worked for the freedom of others. Let us strive to be people of peace
in our thoughts, words and actions as Jesus has shown us.
We make our prayer in the name of Jesus, Prince of Peace.
Amen.
Message from the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers
We are at the midway point of the term and there continues to be a strong focus on teaching and learning in all classrooms.
We have noticed that there are many students away from school with illness. This is an opportune time to remind families to please test for Covid if your child presents with any Covid symptoms. If you have run out of RAT tests, we still have plenty available at school and you may collect a box of tests from the front office. A reminder that if your child tests positive you should register the positive RAT test with WA Health and also advise the school through our online form, so that we can keep track of the number of cases in our school community.
On Friday those students wishing to nominate for Head Girl or Head Boy and Faction Captains for 2023, will give a speech to their peers and then students in Years 4 to 6 will vote through a ballot supervised by the Electoral Commission. This is just one of the many ways in which our students’ voices are heard at our school.
Reflection: On Friday, at our Remembrance Day service, we will remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in war. The Gospel reminds us that peace comes through committing ourselves to justice, to just relationships with those around us, including family members, friends and those in need like refugees and the marginalised. If peace is to be a global reality, it starts with us and our attitude towards others.
On Friday our Remembrance Day service commences in the undercover area at 10.45am. Parents and family members are invited to attend.
God Bless you all.
Ondine Komnick
Principal
