MacArthur Elementary School
November 1, 2019
Notes from the Principal
Dear MacArthur Families,
Thank you to all the parents who attended their parent/teacher conferences. We had a great turnout and I know the teachers really valued making a personal connection with each of you. Trunk or Treat and Grandparent’s Day both had amazing turn outs as well.
What a great start to the new grading period it has been this week for our students. We really want our students to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally and with your continued help and support we can make that happen.
Have a Great Weekend.

News from Our School Counselor
Parents,
In order for students to be truly successful both at school and at home, there must be consistency between the two. At home, focus on the most important behaviors and create a short and straight forward list of rules/consequences. Establishing structure is also key. When your child is at school, their day is very much mapped out and planned. Keep that same structure at home, and even setting a designated homework time can make all the difference! Also, frequent contact with your child’s teacher is very important. Your child’s teacher may have already contacted you to set up Parent/Teacher conferences. This is a great opportunity to bridge the home-school connection and communication. If you have not already done so, I encourage you to sign up for a conference. Doing these little things at home can set your child up for success at school!
