M- STEP Practice Test Informaton
In the January 28 Spotlight (http://www.michigan.gov/documents/mde/Spotlight_1-28-16_512377_7.pdf ) issue (Pgs. 2-3) it is written that the Office of Standards and Assessment has created online Spring 2016 M-STEP Sample Item Sets and tutorials for schools and their students. Page 3, in Spotlight, lays out the various M-STEP Sample Item Sets and the grade levels where they are available online. To access the information you have to use a Chrome web browser. So, you may want to copy the Chrome access link (https://wbte.drcedirect.com/MI/portals/mi/ott1) and place it in an available Chrome browser.
You will have to sign on with the username and password displayed on the screen. Within grade levels, the Sample Item Sets have options for assessing content areas of choice. There are also M-STEP and MI-Access tutorials on the site. There are multiple M-STEP and MI-Access Online Testing Video Tutorials, from which to choose, for you as testing proctors and students (i.e., see M-STEP tutorial topics below). Exposing you as proctors and students to this online Spring 2016 information, prior to testing, can better position you and them to navigate the online Spring 2016 testing environment and, hopefully, maximize their success.
Spring 2015 M-STEP Parent Report
Spring 2015 M-STEP Elms Building Results
As we approach Data Meetings, in the next couple of weeks, please take a moment to review the below link. The link will take you to charts and graphs reporting how Elms students (compared to the county and state) performed on the Spring 2015 M-STEP assessment last year. Remember our students were assessed in Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies. There are multiple tabs which are located at the bottom of the page once you select the link.
Although these results are nothing more than a baseline for this year, they certainly can be used a reference and starting point for our building.
Data Meetings are Coming February 22nd!
It is at this time of the year that we prepare for our Mid-Year Data-Meetings. Remember in the fall it was decided, per your grade level, that interventions for your students would look a little different this year. You were not required to do “Power Time” groups however, between you and Title I Para support students would receive interventions based on their needs.
The data meetings will be held on February 22nd in the music room. The schedule for the day has been sent to you.
Please bring the following to the meeting:
Current DRA Results – Independent Levels
Last Quarterly Assessment Results
DIBELS Results
Other Relevant Student Achievement Data
Students in a SIDR
Behavioral Reports
BIP information if applicable
At this point in the school year it will be important to reassess the performance level of all our students. Our most intensive students, who have made little to no gains, may need to be considered for a SIDR if you have not already started that process.
Please plan accordingly for these upcoming Data Meetings.
