Students can nominate their favorite teacher, librarian, or instructional coach for a very special award - the Lobo Honors Award. Students will write a letter telling why their teacher is special and how they Engage, Equip, and Empower them to reach their full potential. Letters can be handwritten or typed and must be returned to the main office of your child's school by Friday, February 8, 2019.
One teacher will be selected from Prestwick and the staff member will honored at Lobos Honor Gala on April 12th.

Prestwick's Great Kindness Challenge
Next week Prestwick will be Participating in The Great Kindness Challenge!
This is a positive and uplifting program that creates a culture of kindness in schools, communities, and the world. Using a 50-item checklist, schools and families are challenged to complete as many acts of kindness as possible.
- Ms. Burrell with be providing guidance activities all week!
- The Kindness checklist will go home on Tuesday.
- Please encourage your child to wear a team jersey or T-shirt to show they are “teaming up” to support the challenge on Tuesday.
- On Friday, 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students will enjoy a tech-free mixer, where they will get to know one another better.

Staff Spotlight
Greetings Lobos! Our spotlight this week in on one of our middle school teachers, Mrs. Jeani Gonzalez. Mrs. Gonzalez has been part of the Prestwick family for 4 years and has been teaching science for 7 years. She graduated from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. Go Rattlers and Go Spurs Go!!
Here is what Mrs. Gonzalez had to say about herself “My educational goal is to encourage and enable students, to develop inquiring minds and curiosity about science, acquire knowledge, conceptual understanding and skills to solve problems and make informed decisions in scientific and other contexts.”
When Mrs. Gonzalez’s has free time she enjoys crafting and designing custom items for others to love. Additionally, Mrs. Gonzalez loves spending time with her family. She is married to her husband Richard and they have 2 children ages 8 and 6. Haley and JRae are both proud little Lobos!

Interested in Trying Out to be a Cheerleader, Yell Leader, or Mascot?
A mandatory parent meeting will be held for those who are interested in trying out for Cheerleader, Yell Leader, or Mascot. The meeting will be Wednesday, February 6th @ 6pm at LEHS in the Lecture Hall.
Tryouts for the 2019-2020 Season will be Friday March 22nd.
Mandatory Clinics will be from 5-7pm on 3/18, 3/19, 3/20, and 3/21
