Third Grade News

June 2, 2015

Dear Parents,

Happy June! It's hard to believe that we only have 6 more days of school left and then you will have a Fourth Grader in your house! Or two or three :) It is bittersweet to think about school ending, while also being proud of how far each student has come this year. Third grade is a big year in independence and responsibility and I hope you currently see more of these traits in your student than at the beginning of the year.

Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. You can reach me via email or phone, just use the contact information below. Have a great week!

STEM boats

After reading (or rather, watching on YouTube) the book, Where the Wild Things Are, students collaborated with second graders to create a boat for Max to get to and from the land of the Wild Things. The challenge was two-fold. First, for it to float and second, for it to move on its own. Students had balloons, straws, styrofoam plates, tape, and string to construct their boat. See below for pictures of some of the boats that were created!
