The Polser Pride
Week of August 19th, 2019
What's Happening this Week?
As I have walked classrooms each week I have seen how well our students have learned expectations and procedures. I have seen wonderful engineering lessons taking place, students learning vocabulary-scientist, engineer, and many of you diving into the curriculum. I have heard our students talk about their day as they enter their cars and say "it was amazing" or "I had so much fun today." Thank you so much for everything you have done to prepare engaging learning environments for our students and ensuring they know what leads to success in your classrooms.
Thank you grade level teachers for staying late to provide our parents with important information regarding your grade level and classroom procedures and expectations. I appreciate your time this week. Next year, we have a plan for one night for all orientations!
Next week, we will practice all of our safety drills on Thursday, August 29th and Friday, August 30th. Please make sure your students understand that they are drills and just for practice. Let me know if you are missing your red flip book, SRP poster, or evacuation map in your classrooms. I think we have passed everything out.
We have a Spirit Night on Wednesday, August 28th, at 4:00p at The Grind Burgers in Castle Hills.
I will be out Monday, August 26th, in Chicago, and Wednesday, August 28th, at the Principal Meeting. Heather and Melodie will both be on campus.
Jackson will be working this weekend and the building should be open. I can't guarantee the alarms will be off. Make sure you phone a friend if you are still waiting on access. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! GO CUBS GO!
Please feel free to leave this afternoon once all of your students have left for the day.
Thanks for all you do,
Lisa
