Hello everybody,
Harambee's African week (October 22-27) is approaching very quickly. We will be presenting an entrepreneurship fair on Friday, 26th of October, at 4:30 pm. The event will be comprised of a presentation by Professor J. Gomer and a business fair afterward which will allow the student body to browse featured businesses. Harambee is looking for student business owners and entrepreneurs to participate in the business fair.

Join Maneul and Bryce as they share their stories, journeys, and experiences in the Peace Corps. Gather information about the application process. Learn how to become involved in the Knox Peace Corps Prep program and how best to prepare for the Peace Corps application process and experience as a volunteer.

Day of Dialogue and Fall Institute Day (no class)
All Day
Fall Institute is a day for students to take a break from their daily classes and attend themed sessions pertaining to different interests and career paths. From preparing for study abroad to learning how to best prepare for med school applications, this day provides the opportunity for students to learn topics not formally a part of the classroom setting.
The schedule for Day of Dialogue is as follows:
11 am -12 pm: Dialogue 101
This session will provide the campus community with a common set of expectations and terminology that will be used throughout the afternoon dialogues.
Faculty and Staff Session hosted by dr becky martinez in the Trustees Room
Student Session hosted by Tianna Cervantez in the Lincoln Room.
1:30p-3p: Dialogue #1
Campus community members have the choice to participate in a dialogue regarding race or socioeconomic class. The dialogues will take place in either the Athletic Center's field house or the Lincoln/Skylight rooms. You will be notified where to check in prior to that day.
3 - 3:15 pm: Break & transition to the next session
3:15 - 4:45 pm: Dialogue #2
Campus community members have the choice to participate in a dialogue regarding gender or political ideology. Again, the dialogues will take place in either the Athletic Center's field house or the Lincoln/Skylight rooms. You will be notified where to check in prior to that day.
5:30 pm: A community dinner will be served for everyone. It will be located in Hard Knox Cafe, Lincoln, Skylight and Oak

The Great Shakeout - Earthquake Awareness Drill

The Great Shakeout is a nationwide awareness campaign to prepare for a potential earthquake.
In an emergency, every minute counts. So stop and consider how prepared you are for an earthquake at school and at home. Where will you take cover? What can you do to prepare your living and work spaces to keep from being injured by falling furniture or large items?
