Lockport City School District
November Points of Pride from Superintendent Bradley
I am excited to highlight Points of Pride in our district! This month features Partnership in Patriotism, our National Technical Honor Society Inductees, and our United Way Campaign.
Partnership in Patriotism
Thank you to Partnership in Patriotism coordinators Mrs. Renee Knight and Mrs. Heather Walton for their work in preparing 90 Lockport City School District students for the annual Veterans Day event at Outwater Park. These students endured the brutal weather conditions to honor America's servicemen and women. A special thank you to all veterans within the LCSD learning community and the Lockport community for their service. We appreciate your sacrifices.
National Technical Honor Society Inductees
Eleven Lockport High School students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society through Orleans Niagara BOCES Career Technical Education Program. The attributes of membership include skill, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership. The official slogan of National Technical Honor Society is "Excellence in America's Workforce Begins with Excellence in Workforce Education". Congratulations to the following students: Elkins Figueroa, Luke Smeal, Tyneka Benton, Ryan Eberhardt, Eliza Church, Kathryn Yurek, Madeline Brick, Aliyah Zastrow, Carolina Overton, Ari Johnson, Michaellean Brown.
2019 United Way of Greater Niagara Campaign
Members of the Lockport City School District Learning Community donated over $28,000 during this year's United Way of Greater Niagara campaign. Special thanks to Cheryl Larkin, LCSD speech language pathologist, for coordinating this year's campaign. Thank you to everyone for their generosity and commitment to our community.
With pride and gratitude, I want to extend heartfelt wishes to everyone for a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday. The LCSD learning community and the community of Lockport continue to focus on providing a comprehensive and quality education for children. It is a pleasure to work with some many wonderful community members, agencies, employees, students and parents. Thank you for all that you do to support LCSD!
