FPS BOARD OF EDUCATION SELECTS (3) SUPERINTENDENT FINALISTS
As shared with all families by email on Friday, the Franklin Public Schools Board of Education has selected (3) finalists for Superintendent. You can read more about the finalists here. During this week, each candidate will be in the district interviewing, meeting with stakeholders, and touring buildings. The FPS School Board hopes to make a final selection later this week. An announcement of the new FPS Superintendent will be made once the candidate formally accepts the position. All updates about this process continue to be added to our Superintendent Search Update page here.
FPS IS ADDING TEXT MESSAGING
Similar to how we send out emails and phone calls, FPS will soon be able to send text messages to parents. This will only be used for time sensitive situations (school is called off, an alert related to a bus incident, a building situation to keep families informed about, upcoming event details, etc). This service will be added next Tuesday, May 3rd at 4:30pm. Parents and guardians will receive a message from this service that explains steps to take should you choose to opt out. Look for more details in the district newsletter this Friday and in next Monday’s building newsletter!
Note for staff: We are still working to add staff contact information for this feature.

ARE YOU READY TO TAKE A MORE ACTIVE ROLE IN THE PTO?
We will have two positions opening up at the end of this year and are looking for individuals who would like to serve a 2-year term! Our president and secretary positions are up for re-election this year. Below are brief descriptions of what each office entails. We have a great community at Country Dale making board positions less time-intensive than you would assume. If you’d like to chat with the sitting board members, please feel free to reach out to Jen Johnsen (President) or Katie Pallen (Secretary) to see what their experiences have been. Anyone who has an interest in running for a position can contact a board member via email, in person, or through the messenger chat features in our Facebook groups.
The President shall preside at all meetings, serve as ex-officio member of all committees, coordinate the work of the officers and committees to promote the organization’s objectives, arrange for an independent audit of the financial records of the organization, and perform such other duties as may be assigned by the organization.
The Secretary shall record the minutes of the membership meetings and perform such other duties as may be assigned.
The election of officers is held yearly in May. No member shall be nominated without his or her consent. The new Executive Board will be voted on and announced at the May PTO meeting on Tuesday, May 10th at 5:30 pm in Room 3 at Country Dale.
Thank you,
Jen Johnsen
