The Walden Weekly

School News You Can Use - Jan. 20, 2023

Dear Walden Families,

We had a great week at Walden School as we hosted our annual Spelling Bee competition. Students from 4th and 5th grade classrooms participated in this exciting scholastic event! The tension in the room was felt by all as only a few spellers remained. As much as the excitement filled the air at Walden, so did support and comfort from our student audience members to our spellers. Students cheered for their peers and hugged students as they returned to their seats. It was wonderful to see our students caring for one another and showing such tremendous compassion. It was very heartwarming. Congrats to our school champion, Joanna Sloth. We wish you all the best of luck at the regional spelling bee! We also want to congratulate Autumn Evans as our runner up! Excellent job to all of our spellers! Also, thank you to Mrs. Gordon who coordinated and organized this special event.

Have a great weekend and we'll see you Monday!

Social-Emotional Learning Student Survey

Building students’ social-emotional learning (SEL) skills is important at Walden School. As a part of the learning process, we ask our students to reflect on skills related to their own SEL and the school environment using a Panorama student survey. This survey will be administered between January 30th and February 10th. Per policy, if you would like your child to opt out of taking the survey, please contact me no later than Monday, January 30th at 8am.
