Smart Watch Usage
As of late, we’ve encountered students using their smart watches excessively in our classrooms. Just as phones are not allowed in class because of distraction and confidentiality, smart watches require us to implement the same school-use protocols. Our handbook states on pages 11 and 12, “To ensure the privacy and confidentiality of student information, no person is authorized to record or transmit any sound or image of any person (including themselves) without the prior consent of the person or persons being recorded or whose image or sound is being transmitted.” If your child chooses to bring their watch to school, please make sure they know to leave it in their locker just as they would leave their cell phones. We understand that many parents use this as a way to ensure safety. Teachers can remind students to put their watches back on prior to dismissal. We will always allow students an opportunity to go to the office to use the school phone if they need or want to contact you during the school day. Thank you for your cooperation.
Message from Mrs. Lethcoe
Dear Heritage Families,
Thank you to all who helped out and donated for Teacher Appreciation Week. It has been a full week and all staff have truly enjoyed it. Thank you for making our staff feel special and appreciated.
We held our incoming Kindergarten Parent meeting on Thursday evening. It was a great turnout and we enjoyed seeing many new families as well as returning families.
Our next Student of the Month assembly will be on Wednesday, April 5th. All students will be recognized at the same assembly at 9:15 on this day.
Please continue to look for Heritage Happenings throughout the week on our facebook page.
Please know you can contact me by phone, 402-238-2095 or by email, klethcoe@bennps.org.

Reminders and Current Happenings at Heritage
Absences from School
If your child is going to be late or gone from school, please contact the Heritage office at 402-238-2095 or email the secretary at covergaard@bennps.org.
As a reminder, per the student handbook, children who have vomited, had diarrhea, or a fever of 100 degrees or above during the night or prior to school need to remain at home, fever free for 24 hours. Most viruses are highly contagious for 24 hours after the vomiting/diarrhea has occurred.
We ask that if your child is having any of these symptoms, that they stay home for 24 hours after the symptoms have subsided without the help of fever reducing medications.
