Our Lady of Mercy
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 10 | 5 APRIL 2023
Easter is a celebration of new life, like spring bringing new life to the plants and animals. At Easter, we remember how Jesus died for us and then rose again on the third day, which we call the Resurrection. This reminds us that there's always a chance for new beginnings and hope, just like the chicks hatching in science class with Mrs Johnson this week. As we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us carry this message of hope and new life in our hearts, and share it with those around us. Happy Easter!
As we approach the end of this school term and prepare to celebrate Easter with our families, we come to you with open hearts. We ask for your guidance and help in feeling renewed and refreshed by your love. We are grateful for Jesus, who showed us how to live a good life and gave us new hope.
During this Holy Week, we reflect on the Stations of the Cross and remember the sacrifices that Jesus made for us. We reflect on his love for us, and we are reminded of the importance of showing love and compassion to others. Please give us the strength to follow in his footsteps and to always strive to do good in the world.
As we spend time with our families during this special time, please help us to be kind and loving towards them. We ask that you continue to guide us on our journey, and help us to always remember your love and share it with others.

Dear Parents and Carers
We have come to the end of the first term and we thank you for your support of our school and partnership in your children's learning journey over the past 10 weeks. It has been a busy term with Naplan assessments being held for the very first time in Term 1; our school undergoing an audit process; and the very important work in Term 1 of settling into new classrooms and building strong relationships between educators and students. All this hard work setting up the conditions for learning, has laid strong foundations for effective teaching and learning to continue throughout the year.
A very big thank you to families for your contributions to our Easter raffle. We also thank our hardworking and dedicated P&F team for their efforts in organising and running the raffle. Our school community is blessed by the service of these dedicated P&F volunteers, who have busy lives too but who are always willing to give their time where they can, to support school initiatives.
As Christians celebrating Easter, we are called to be people of hope. To be people who shine the light of Christ to others and who share the Easter message of hope that ‘through Christ we live, move and have our being’.
We wish you all a blessed Easter and hope that this time with family provides you with the opportunity for rest and inspiration for new life in Christ.
May the peace and joy of Easter fill your hearts with love.
