The Catholic Christian Community of St. Anthony of Padua welcomes all to our celebration of God's love. Through prayer, education, sacraments, caring and stewardship, we strive to serve the needs of God's people and to gain a richer understanding of the gospel message of love.

Toy Drive for MLK

New unwrapped toys may be donated until Thursday, December 14.Toys should be appropriate for Kindergarteners through 6th grade. Toys can be placed in the bins outside the office. No stuffed animals or toys that require batteries please.

In the Classroom This Week:


On Friday last week, 5th graders had the opportunity to go to confession as a Advent/Christmas gift from Monsignor Rob.

Language Arts

200 minutes will be required for the Christmas Break. Reading Logs will be collected Monday, January 8, 2017 when we return from break.

Students will work on another Creative Writing story. They will be given a picture with Santa Claus peeking into a toy bag. They will write a story to go along with the picture.

No Spelling/Vocabulary next week.


Students will be completing their second research project. They will have designed an “educational box” about their element. They will present their box to the class as they educate the class about the element they chose to study.

Social Studies

In Science students will be presenting their Element Project box to the class. They will describe their element, identify the year it was discovered, describe what it is used for, etc


Schedule Reminders

No Homework Club this week.

Thursday, 12/14 at 2:00 will be the Winter Sports Rally in the gym. It will begin at 2:00. Students are encouraged to wear Christmas Hat.

Friday, 12/15 both classes will be traveling to Catholic Charities to deliver the blankets that they have been working so hard on. They look great.

Tuesday, 12/19 is our 5th grade Christmas Party at the Gateway Ice Center. We will be leaving the school by 8:45 and returning by noon. Lunch will be provided at the ice center. Students are encouraged to wear layers of clothes to ice skating. We will discuss with the students more details regarding dress. Students do not need any money.

Tuesday, 12/19 is the Christmas Program at 7:00 P.M. All students will meet in Room 5 at 6:45 dressed in Sunday attire. Be prepared for parking as the Christmas show for grades 2, 4, and 6 is just before us that same evening.

Wednesday, December 20, is a minimum day with a 12:30 dismissal. No Campus Care that day. We will have our homeroom Christmas party that day. Students have the option to participate in a gift exchange. Small gifts with a $10 value. Boys will exchange anonymously with boys, and girls will exchange anonymously with girls.

We begin our Christmas break Wednesday, December 20. School resumes Monday, January 8.
