The Catholic Christian Community of St. Anthony of Padua welcomes all to our celebration of God's love. Through prayer, education, sacraments, caring and stewardship, we strive to serve the needs of God's people and to gain a richer understanding of the gospel message of love.

In the Classroom This Week:


We went to Catholic Charities to deliver the fleece tie blankets that the students' have been working so hard on. They turned out beautifully. We know how much they will be appreciated during this winter season. Thank you to all the parents who drove.

Language Arts

In Writing and Grammar, students will be able to identify the tense of a verb. We will be focusing on the future tense of the verb. Students will also learn how to identify a linking verb.

Students took a Unit 8 Spelling pretest yesterday. Those who received 100% will not need to take the test on Friday. There will also be a Unit 8 Vocabulary Test on Wednesday next week.


In Science, students will be able to identify the structural formula of a molecule. They will complete the study guide reviewing lessons 21-28, which covers everything from the periodic table, to chemical bonding, and molecules. The Science Unit 3 Assessment will take place on Thursday, December 13th.

Social Studies

Students will learn about the competition among nations for control of the Florida territory of North America. They will also continue to explore colonial interaction with American Indians.

Students may use the website for more practice with each weekly newspaper.

Students will have a quiz on Thursday this week and then we will take a break from the newspaper until we return from Christmas Break.

Schedule Reminders

Wednesday, 12/12 is a Minimum Day. Campus Care will be available.

Friday, 12/14 5T will be sponsoring Hot Lunch.

Tuesday, 12/18 is our 5th grade Christmas Party at the Gateway Ice Center. We will be leaving the school by 8:45 and returning by noon. Lunch will be provided at the ice center. If students do not want to eat pizza they are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch with them to the ice arena or they can get their paid hot lunch when we return to school. Students are encouraged to wear layers of clothes to ice skating. We will discuss with the students more details regarding dress. Students do not need any money.

Tuesday, 12/18 is the Christmas Program at 7:00 P.M. All students will meet in Room 5 at 6:45 dressed in Sunday attire. Be prepared for parking as the Christmas show for grades 2, 4, and 6 is just before us that same evening.

Wednesday, December 19, is a minimum day with a 12:30 dismissal. No Campus Care that day. We will have our homeroom Christmas party that day. Students have the option to participate in a gift exchange. Small gifts with a $10 value. Boys will exchange anonymously with boys, and girls will exchange anonymously with girls.

We begin our Christmas break Wednesday, December 19. School resumes Monday, January 7. May your family be blessed with lots of love and health this New Year.
